Eric is probably my favorite character when he has his memory. Bill though is challenging him. I think it's soap opera bullshite that's the problem overall- I like the internal struggle and politics. To me that should be the bread and butter. Instead a good bit of the fan base is enamored with some love story.
The witches storyline really really intrigues me though. Something about the past being dredged up is what I enjoy....like Godric and Russell.
Russell Edgington killing that reporter and ripping his heart out...almost nutted myself.

I mean majority if the fanbase is women. We tend to like love stories. Especially complicated ones that tend to tread the unattainable line. And I like the Eric/Sookie/Bill triangle when it's not totally one dimensional and typical.

The show is being weighed down by too many bullshite stories. I down give a shite about Arlene or Hoyt's mom's bullshite whenever we have big stories like the crazy church/cult, werewolves (correct me if I'm wrong, but did they ever address what happened to the v-addicted werewolves after Russell's disappearance?), super witches, and the vampire-hating world.

You're supposed to like stuff like the Big C and L Word...things with single letter consonant in the title.

I'll agree with you. Also don't care for Hoyt/Red Headed chicks relationship issues...basically anything romantic because it borders on absurdity. Sam/Little brother just need to have a duel to the death and be done with it. Besides, what is going on with Skinwalking Sally...big tadoo about being her mom...and no followup? WTF?

I agree. I'm totally cool with the show saying "frick the Books". And focusing on the politics, and how the vampires are coping in a world after they came "out of the coffin" and went public.
The scene with Nan and Bill in London, and how they killed Sophie Anne. Thats stuff I's like to see more of.
Like who are the Kings? Why do they have kings?
How many do they have?

I'd imagine 50, one for each State

I'm guessing they are trying to cut down on the run of the show. They've taken out 2 complete books in the first 3 episodes this season. Cool with me I suppose. Oh and the chick we thought was Mary Ann seems to have been someone else. That was definitely a new person in the mirror.

Remind me, who is this again?

Sam's horse playmate. Pretty much on to be naked then I suppose

Heh.
Since you brought up wanting more of the political side of things, you're going to have to hold out until next season to get answers about The Authority and etc. I've linked the Alan Ball interview he talks about it in (vaguely).

To me there are just so many shitty storylines that are really weighing down the show. Off the top of my head all of these could be stopped and noone would care:sam/bro,Arlene/Terry,Hoyt/redhead,anything w Tara. I would say Jason/hotshot bc it is terrible right now but I think Jason as a werepanther could be interesting. So basically that's everything except for the vampires and sookies involvement w them.

Would make sense.
In the books they said Texas and New York have two, Cali has three. Also Smaller states are held by one King. Like the Dakotas, Wyoming and Montana all have just one King for them all.
Then the King of Nevada in the books, runs NV, AZ, Louisiana, Arkansas and Mississippi.

That baby freaks me the frick out.
They have too many story arcs going. Jason tied to a bed the entire episode? The least Crystal could have done was take of her shirt while she was fricking Jason.

Yeah I don't know. I am a fan, but this season is losing me. I'm gonna give it a couple more before I bail. Too many dumb story lines & bad characters.

Eric needs to get his memory back slowly.......Pam needs to kill Tara for interfering and causing the Wicca to mind frick Eric.....Jason needs to lead the werepanthers on a mutually destructive war against the Alcide werewolves.....anything else?
Russel and his werewolves need to re-surface (w/ other rogue Vamps) to do battel with Bill, Eric, Nan and the Authority.....they can all wear former SS/Gustapo ensignia.....
There is potential, just not much follow-through.

Same here. Plus, it will give me an excuse to drop HBO.
I like the witch angle...finally something to threaten the vampires. They have basically had rule of the land, but chose not to. Lame. Plus, there are too many stories (that no one cares about) going on. Focus writers...

Really? IMO the 1st 3 episodes of this season are a million times better than Season 3. There's still 9 episodes left...things have only started heating up.
But yes, I agree that some of the side characters, i.e. Sam's whitetrash family/brother and Tara, and Arlene's demon baby, have got to go.
