Just came back after seeing in in IMAX.
Perhaps the best popcorn flick of all time, myself and everyone i was with was on the edge of their seat the entire time. THe first 5 minutes set the tone and grabbed your attention and excitement for what was to follow. Loved the backstory which did not require you to see the first two films, and footage /shots looked great.
IMAX was incredible. I don't think I will ever see an action movie in non-imax ever again.
Sound was deafening, just the way it ought to be for a movie of this scale.
Music/score was great and well played in the movie. Something about the music from all the Transformer films speaks to me like its art.
Characters were developed very well with the exception of shockwave. They may have lead us to believe shockwave was the main villain and get the surprise about Sentinel.
Everyone walking out of there looked dazed, like we were actually in the movie (you get your moneys worth). Again, IMAX and the 3D was amazing. I think this will revive the 3d industry, but only if future movies are shot in 3d. 3D was not overbearing or gave me headaches. A nice touch. I was very worried how the 3d would turn out going in.
Good plot and great flow in the movie, although I wished they traded 5 minutes of chicago action with a more thorough ending and long speech by Optimus like the original.
Gonna see it again.

If there was a 4th movie, the dinobots HAS to be in it.

What they did to Chicago was actually believable
At the end of the movie isn't that the way Chicago always looks? :rimshot:

Want to add: Best of the 3, had Megan Fox been in it the move would have been a masterpiece.
With that said I have to mention one obligatory Michael Bay plothole:
SPOILERS
"We only have one missile"
Followed by 50 precision target missiles being launched from a distant base at the decepticons.
Why not just launch a few over at the main pillar.
= Movie over

My main complaint with the movie was the overly long bouncing round like a yo-yo sequence.
I was able to forgive pretty much everything else.

I thought the new chick was way hotter.
Though that might be because I prefer blondes, and the sophisticated air (relatively speaking) as opposed to Fox's slutty air.

yeah once optimus shows up and says "kill them all" i was hoping to see 30 minutes of epic robot fights, but it was like an hour, and most of that was humans being annoying and ineffective
that is my one criticism of the movie

Is it worth seeing in 3D?

I really like the McGuffin of getting Prime tangled in the wires so as to protract the battle and make the focus be on the humans.
That way you can have a long battle and make Prime an unalterated badass when he is actually on the field!

Its the best 3D movie to come out since Avatar.
If thats your thing or not is up to you.
Its definitely worth it on IMAX though.

I agree. No reason that movie should have been that long. He could have edited better and knocked off a half hour.

Saw it last night and loved the frick out of it. Seriously, it made love to my eyeballs for 2 hours then slapped my brain around like a bitch telling it not to think.
It's easy to get caught up in what was wrong with it though. Two years ago I wanted to punch someone associated with TF2 in the face. Then topless robot was linked here and summed up everything wrong with TF2 that I wanted to say.
Just wanted to link the follow up for topless robot. It's not as funny as two years ago, but I'm sure many of y'all fell the same. Cause I liked shiny keys, but had to say, "Wait, what?....ah frick it." a couple of times.
topless robot q&a

yeah prime lost his trailer, said he needed it, developed this plan
they didn't execute that plan at all and they didn't go back to the trailer
THEN, he got tangled up

you know it was really long, and i was blown aawy before seeing it hearing the run time, but during the movie it didn't seem that long UNTIL the final battle. 15-20 minutes less of humans fighting would have done well

I know exactly what you mean.
I remember going in the movie "Wait...wha? That's stupid and makes no sense."
But for the life of me, I don't remember what was the plot hole that made me say that. I rapidly lost interest and forgot it and just enjoyed the ride.

One of the reviewers said it was the most painful 3 hours of his life. What the F*** is wrong with critics. I enjoyed the hell out of this movie. I was really impressed with the VS model. I was expecting her to suck but she did a really good job and was smoking hot especially that first butt scene.
I really enjoyed the story with the whole NASA coverup and bringing in Buzz Aldrin
Frances McDormand character was getting on my nerves.
The parents were a little to crazy for the 2nd one and they fit right in on the 3rd one. Bumble bee and Optimus prime once again stole the show and the final fight scene in Chicago was BADASS even though I thought they could have taken about 10 minutes out. You really start caring for the robots after 3 movies I was hoping they weren't gonna kill bumble bee in that one scene. Once again I listened to everyone say how terrible of a movie this was and once again they were wrong. Why do I even listen to them

I liked that part too.
I though I wouldn't be surprised AT ALL if I was the only person in the theater who knew that it really was Buzz Aldrin.
And on an unrelated note, this is the perfect example of how to take history and make a cover up part of your story line.
It was done within the realm of what we knew happened. So it is within the normal ability of suspicion of disbelief.
The premise of the Apollo 18 movie coverup is wayyyy too big a pill to swallow as a given.
I liked the Spock references as well.
"Oh I've seen this one, its when Spock goes crazy" at the start"
"Needs of the many, outweigh the needs of the few"
Would have been nice if he threw that line in battle with prime, who retorts "Or the one" before giving a crushing blow (obviously insinuating that Sentinel isn't as noble as he thinks himself)
