I've never seen Pet Sematary.

Should I watch the original before watching the remake?

I watched the new "It" before watching the original and the original was a steaming pile of shite compared to the new one.

I've seen some of the original, but not the whole thing. I feel like at this point it may be better to not watch it so you at least won't have anything spoiled for you in terms of story. That's how I will approach it at least.

That looks pretty good.

I hope they explain why such a rural, rugged road has so much tractor-trailer traffic.

have you not driven rural roads before? plenty of tractor trailers out. Plus it is a big part of the story.

But the whole setting felt too covered by the woods. I remember the OG as being more wide open.

Depends. This one IMO, at least from the trailer, doesn't seem to have the same overall unsettling atmosphere as the original. The Zelda scenes in the original haunted many viewers for decades.

On another note, it's almost uncanny how much the male lead in this one resembles Dale Midkiff.

Yeah. That's plenty accurate. I lived near some forestry factories and those drivers aren't playing around. They drive through downtown even. A few people got hit every year.

It depends.

In the original movie, the main character was a nice man.

In the book, he's way douchier.

Not sure which version they're going with

Fred Gwynne's "Sometimes dead is better" >>>> John Lithgow's "Sometimes dead is better"

Yeah I was hoping Lithgow would attempt an accent but he didn't.

Hm. I still much prefer the original film to the remake, and I thought the remake was well done.

I was thinking the same thing. I like Lithgow as an actor but Fred Gwynne's voice/accent was gold.
