I haven’t seen DD yet and jumped into The Punisher without a problem. I did know the basic backstory but they do a good job giving you glimpses into why he is the way he is through flashbacks.

The Punisher first appears in S2 of Daredevil, which gives more background information.

Damn marvel for putting such a liberal slant on this series. :(

Spoilers....
I first noticed it when DareDevil beat up a store owner who was protecting his property from looters in Defenders, now in Punisher it has gotten worst with the NRA white terrorist story line.

Just finished. Freaking amazing! Last fight was gruesome and freaking awesome. So who is predicted to be the season 2 villian?

Many of the critics hated this show because they thought it was too pro gun then you have people complaining it was anti-NRA
Spoilers!!!!!
Yes they had the crazy NRA guy but they also had the lying and cowardly democrat senator who was completely anti-gun. The show even pointed out his hypocrisy when he hired armed guards to protect himself but he wasn’t for Karen caring a gun (one of the protagonists on the show that are pro gun) to protect herself. Again the show made an anti gun democrat look like a liar, hypocrite, and coward. I’d say the show is pretty even.

Jigsaw (Billy Russo). Jigsaw is one of the few Punisher villains that is reoccurring.

If I was them, I'd make him season 3 as a comeback. However, I don't know the repertoire of bad guys.

Will watch the final episode tonight. It's been a hell of a ride.

Word is Fisk for DD Season 3. Cage S2 is Bushmaster and Nightshade, JJ is rumored to be Nuke and SPOILERS the return of Kilgrave....
I've heard that they are working Typhoid Mary into this somewhere, and she could make sense for The Punisher Season 2, and she hasn't been rumored in any other show so it's that or Defenders Season 2. Jigsaw is a clear choice. There's a guy named Barracuda who would make a lot of sense. And Punisher often clashes with the Maggia which would be the next "Hand" type of villain. I think they go with a Fisk/Lector style Jigsaw and work in the Maggia somewhere.

The series was top-notch from start to finish. It was an intense ride that went places I don't think many expected.
SPOILERS:
The gun debate was pretty dead even. I liked that the NRA loon was a stolen glory a-hole, it made for a good twist. Karen and the politician's back and forth was pretty even, the killing shot was when he made the point about people shouldn't need arms and she pointedly looked at his multiple armed guards.
The action was brutal, exactly what you would expect from a Punisher series. Making Frank the trigger-man in the video was a great full-circle for the story as well as being the real "trigger" (hah!) that started the entire chain of events. Jon Bernthal is another home run in casting for Marvel/Disney.
That final fight where he scrubs Billy's head down the broken mirror... damn.
Contrary to what others have posted, I liked the ending and found it very fitting. At his core the Punisher character is a soldier fighting a war. In this series his war is now over (or so he thinks?) so it ends with him finally opening up.
Five stars out of five.

I'm gonna say it. Frank is a douche and I hate him.

It didn't stop there. I was legitimately worried that he would turn Russo's face around and do it on the other side too, but he simply smashed his face against the mirror multiple times (you can even see pieces of glass sticking out)

Probably because Russo had already been shot on the left side of his face.

They NEED to do the Slavers arc from Ennis' Max universe. That would certainly bring "Pete" out of retirement.

One of the most miscast characters ever in a series, throw in some shitty writing, should have been way better.
