Sorry to ruin the illusion for you.
Don't understand this. Are you saying getting her start on some perceived lower level is a reason to not expect to see her in more good acting roles?

While I haven't seen Silver Linings Playbook (the one big film from last year I haven't seen), she really needs to star in a straight up comedy. She can obviously improve really well.
I want to see it also. I'm going to have to break away from work and go at like 11:00 a.m. on a Tuesday so nobody sees me going to a romantic comedy-drama alone.
Can't wait for her to host SNL on January 19.

No. I'm saying to consider roles in comic book movies beneath her is stupid considering where she started her career.
But really, I think saying that roles in comic book movies are beneath her is stupid regardless of the circumstances.

Thanks for admitting the truth.
Sorry our tastes in movies aren't the same.
Wasn't trying to demean comic book movies but they are the big budget, action dramas of the day. Just not my cup of tea anymore.

Only Zooey Deschanel doesn't have an Oscar nomination under her belt like Lawrence does (she'll have two Oscar nominations under her belt come Thursday). Zooey Deschanel is also not as versatile an actress as Lawrence is. Her one foray into a serious, dramatic role was in 2008's The Happening and we all know how that turned out.

Provided she can get out of the shadow of "The Hunger Games" (and with two Oscar nominations under her belt, its likely she'll be able to), she's likely to be the next big actress, if she isn't already. In another words, you're going to have a hard time avoiding her films, especially considering she typically stars in good films.

I doubt it.
Why is that? She could star in a film that is spectacular and right up your ally.

Too late for that, but she starred in one of the best Superhero films ever at least as Mystique in X-Men: First Class.
I like Jennifer Lawrence, but I did not care for X-Men First Class or her portrayal as Mystique in that movie. Rebecca Romijn is just so much better dressed as a blue chick imo.

Winter's Bone, X-men: First Class, The Hunger Games, and Silver Linings Playbook are all very good. At the very least, entertaining.

I have no interest in any of those movies

Very talented and attractive actress who has a great career ahead of her. Of course, there will be little dweeb, know nothing motherfrickers (who rarely get laid) who will hate her. Which only confirms her talent.

All The Real Girls, Winter Passing, Manic, The Good Girl, The Assassination of Jesse James, and Eulogy don't count?
