Ok, well then you've got me there, since I haven't seen nearly all of his films .. I mentioned before , not sure if in this thread or another movie thread, that three of TC's movies are in my all-time top favorite movies - Jerry Maguire, Few Good Men, and Rain Man.. in addition to Born on the 4th & Magnolia- two of the best performances by anyone in the last decade or so of the 20th century, imo- id submit that he more than held his own with both Hoffman and with Nicholson in Rain Man and in Few Good Men .. Jerry Maguire to me showed tremendous range to play the guy who 'has it all' then loses everything and is flailing - to me he was very convincing .. But seriously, how can you watch Born on the 4th and not come away super-impressed with his portrayal of the paraplegic Ron Kovic ? You mentioned Risky Business, which I dont care for- in fairness I was a little young to see it when released so I think I missed the wave for that movie, not seeing it until later in lfe.. but to me he's orders of magnitude better in any of the movies I mentioned above, as opposed to his Risky performance .. but like I said, even though you disagreed- I think acting is wildly subjective .
