It is ridiculous. I'll admit I'm wrong if GRRM names him something different when the book is published in 2075. That said, I think it is an issue with Rhaegar, not Dave and Dan.

Rhaegar didn’t know Aegon survived (although I think we both agree that isn’t the real Aegon). I really don’t see any reason D&D would change the name, and I genuinely think they’re closer to GRRM’s ending than some people think.

Considering he’s been shitting on LotR for the past 2 decades, I heavily disagree. Seriously, what from Season 7 do you think will happen if the books are theoretically written? Maybe Dany’s Army moving through the sewers of Casterly Rock, but it’s pretty clear the next time Jaime sees Cersei in the books that he kills her.
