Only movie I can remember with an Intermission that I saw as first run was Death Proof/Planet Terror.

First time experiencing an intermission was at the Odeon in Ipswich, Suffolk, in the late 80's.
I was kinda pissed that they just paused the movie but then I realized I could take a leak AND get another pint in the lobby and return to our semi-private balcony seating.
Can't remember what movie it was, though.

Decent idea for maybe an upscale movie theater.
But most theaters are just trying to survive so I don't think they're looking to lose a showing just to add in intermissions.

True, some of the “epic” films did have an intermission.
I think “Gone with the Wind” and “The Ten Commandments “ were in that number.
As one of those “ older persons” I need at least one break during a three hour movie…
