Gareth Edwards seems like the king of making movies that look great visually, but have a paper thin plot and characters.

Id give that honor to Roland Emmerich.

Saw it Friday night and fell asleep 30 minutes in. I really shouldn't go to late movies after a long day of work.

The first 45 minutes weren't bad

Pretty solid movie. Incredible visuals like you said. Just felt like there was a lot left to be desired… especially since they did such a great job of making an authentic and intriguing world.

Just watched it on a flight. Nice visuals. Thin plot. But, makes a good point. What I took away, don’t judge too harshly until you experience what you fear.

Any who, humans were responsible for nuking LA and that never comes out?

Eta. Also gets into how we (humans) may go from “it’s just programming” to “it’s another person”
