This week's Rewachables: The GOAT (Texas Chainsaw Massacre)

Every year they talk like they're going to do horror movies for October and then they rarely do them. Although I think one slot this week is reserved for the Hunt for Red October, so that's understandable.
It's interesting that they started off this year with this particular horror movie because this doesn't seem like it is the cup of tea of BS. I have to imagine this is going to be very divisive among their online community which is pretty vanilla and blockbuster-centered.
I hope that this doesn't cause them to ignore actually good horror movies moving forward instead of just focusing on mainstream blah.

I contend that Simmons explaining apex mountain to Steven Spielberg was the apex mountain of the podcast.
If the hosts are anyone but some combination of the original three, or Kyle Brandt, or sometimes Van Latham, I will not listen. The other hosts are brutal. There is still meat on the bone for a Four-Heat.

This will be the Monday before the sequel release.

I think they did all horror movies last year or year before
I remember one or two Halloweens and Friday the 13th

As an aside, do yall know of any other good horror movie review podcasts or episodes? I’ve gone back and listened through the last few years of rewatchables stuff while out walking the dog and getting TCM this morning in the feed was a pleasant surprise. Would be interested in more like it for this month if anyone has recommendations.

There aren't many. Hell, there aren't many good movie podcasts (looking up old threads this morning had me come across I thread I made years ago about that).
Evolution of Horror is good.
Journey to Sci-Fi touches on it with Sci-Fi Horror
On Youtube, but WhatCulture Horror is hit or miss.
The problem with horror content for me personally is I hate your typical horror movie fan. The ones who love horror comedy, shitty gore, and just generally try too hard. What I want in horror, and what I want to see/discuss, are not popular in the try hard horror community. Then you have the edge lords who just want to watch disturbing stuff, who I also loathe.

yep it was the year before they did all horror movies. Blair Witch, Poltergeist, Silence of the Lambs, Hereditary, and Halloween 4.

I wasn't sure so I took the easy way out.
No idea. He's referenced TD multiple times on podcasts.

This has kind of been my issue. I have a few on YouTube that I’ll watch because they at least surface lesser known movies or forgotten flicks but the actual reviews are hit and miss (to your point). I used to enjoy Cinemassacres Monster Madness videos just for the sake of getting a good, relatively quick horror history rundown (I’ve actually started letting my oldest watch them and it got him really into the old Godzilla movies oddly enough)
