I would be shocked if that happened.

I can see your second possibility happening though.

Seemed like it in a way, but you're right, it was way more than filler.

I wasn't expecting to find out so much about William's early years with his Mom.

I'm almost afraid of the next episode after seeing the preview.

When Randall placed his hands on William I thought he was gonna sing "You are my Sunshine"

Either way

My first thought is that we could still see plenty of William through flashbacks. It's not like the show is scared of them. The thing that talks me out of that however, is that once he got sucked into the heroin world, he pretty much lost 40 years of his life, and there's nothing to tell from that period.

Well we still have the questions as to Randall's birth mother and what happened to her, right?

She died from complications from the birth

Looks like William will still have a substantial part in the show. We haven't seen the last of him as some predicted.

The show will have to ease up on the feels at some point though. Just an average day or something?

I had to pick up my iPad twice and pretend I was reading crap on here. At the end I assumed where Randall sees the ducks it was gonna be him visiting the tree where jacks ashes were scattered. I was bracing to cry like a damned girl.

I'll admit it, I cried a little. I've held back all season but couldn't this time. My wife looked like she was having one of Randall's break downs on the couch

I don't think Mrs. Vox has made it through a single episode without crying.

Man what an episode I thought it was perfect way
to tell William's story. The writing and the acting is
some of the best I've seen in awhile.

Milo has said it's going to be a while before we see Jack die. They have been renewed for two more seasons, at least, so they are gonna keep us hanging for a while.

I find it kind of strange that they touched on William being gay in maybe two episodes and then just abandoned that plot line.

Yeah that was a bit unnecessary, but it did provide some detail as far as what William was up to before Randall found him. It was a little odd timing for it because he dies a few episodes later. It was a curve ball for that one episode though.

I almost forgot about that. They showed his bf in an episode. Wonder where he was during all of this. I'm sort of surprised they didn't show William telling him goodbye. Makes me wonder if the bf is going to come around when he hears the news. Is Randall going to have to notify or will he?

It's amazing how good this show is when they focus on the strong characters.

I don't see anyway they kill off Jack soon. IMO this show doesn't exist without him especially considering William is now gone.

Just because he dies in an episode flashback (Jack) doesn't mean he won't be in most future episodes.

Just saw the last episode. I called it being the William dies episode from the previews the week prior. Still a powerful episode.

That had to be pretty hard decision to make. I doubt they were able to predict just how good that character was going to be received. It would have been unrealistic to drag out his death though. I'm sure he'll be back from time to time in flashbacks.
