So does he actually die in the fire? I thought I remembered Becca having his belongings in a bag and they didn’t look fire damaged when she pulled up to the burned down house

1.) GFCI outlets were not required by code when jack & Becca’s house was built nor when they bought and remodeled it.
2.). It is highly unlikely the fire would have started in such a manner. The wires would have burned through, which would have stopped the flow of electricity. Or, the circuit breaker would have tripped ( unless it was a Federal Pacific panel, but I don’t think it was based on the breaker box they showed on a previous episode).
3.). Kate’s dog seemed like a sweet little mutt, but damn that thing is/was ugly.

I'm thinking a heroic, last dash inside for the dog... hands it to Kate/becca then passes out outside the house then eventually dies at the hospital

I’m trying to figure out how they get out the house? Fire was blocking the stairs. No way the could have gotten thru it.
Did they all jump from the 2nd story?

This is a biased question in the thread, but anyone else not give a frick about the actual super bowl and only concerned about this upcoming episode ?

I don’t think they knew Kate was in the house. She went to molly’s Party earlier. She also was wearing headphones to bed. jack Goes back in to save her and then dies as a result

well we already know he dies and we all know Milo will still be on the show, but you're right it will be tough to watch.

I don't have much interest in the Super Bowl this year except that I hope the Patriots don't win again. I hope the game doesn't go overtime. I have to remember to Tivo whatever comes on after This is Us to make sure the show doesn't get cut off in case I don't watch it live.
Last night was pretty exhausting. I was already upset about Kate leaving the dog after she was going to take it home. Then, when we find out she did end up bringing it home, more onions. Then, the end of the show-shock and awe.
Crockpot catches on fire and the smoke detector, presumably, didn't go off.
The note on Kevin's door....
No Pearson annual super bowl watch party since all the kids went elsewhere, but at least Jack and Rebecca had a good time together.

I hate that all 3 kids were kinda shitty to Jack that day, but at least Randall had a chance to connect with him one last time.
Super Bowl Sunday. What a gut punch for such a great guy to die that night especially when it meant so much to him to get one last family night in before the kids left for college.
Can you imagine Crock Pot's social media manager, when they got to their desk, this morning?

I remember this as well. It's why I kept thinking he didn't actually die in the fire and they were just teasing us. But after last night it seems pretty clear the fire is his cause of death (well maybe smoke inhalation), I'm guessing after going in to save stupid Kate or her dog.
