You might want to workshop that one a bit more.

Imagine making a historical movie with some actual history.

I wonder if you can.

This the one that said it was a story about woman power and the freedoms, but the real story was that they were prominent slavers who were forced to stop enslaving people by the white man?

Yeah. This the one.

This movie did so well that Hasbro is selling off the entire division it falls under.

You think a movie made for $50 million dollars that almost doubled its budget in box office returns is the straw that broke the camel's back on the company Hasbro bought for $4 billion? A company that produced one of the most popular premium cable shows of 2021 in Yellowjackets, and continues to produce a cheap, profitable cable hit in Naked and Afraid?

The Woman King is a non-entity in that sale, and Cosmic mentioning it in a way that implies it is a core piece of the reason for the sale is stupid, and you know it. The toy brand is keeping the kids content they can market and sell as toys, and selling off the adult-oriented entertainment they don't feel like managing.

It's amazing how consistently wrong you are about everything.

Politics are making people miserable. Or, at least more miserable than they need to be.

That's because its easy. 10 years ago nobody cared if they cast a black person or gay person, they just didn't go see the film if it didn't interest them.

Now its "wokkkke wokkkkeeee!!!!!!!" every time a film dares to acknowledge that other people exist, and people like Ms. Buchanan act as if they are forced to see the films they are complaining about.

That is so incredibly intellectually dishonest to suggest that the blatant politicization of so many works (and all from the same political perspective) is simply daring “to acknowledge that other people exist”.

I mocked this movie based on the cringe trailer but I’m tempted to watch it for some reason
