I don't remember if this was covered in the show or the books, but the White Walkers, the coming of winter, the Long Night - does this only affect Westeros? Or does the rest of the world need to fear the Walkers?

Like is it getting colder in Essos now that Winter has come? Will the Sea of Grass soon become a Sea of Snow with Wights roaming?

I think water is a barrier against the white walkers.

So Essos is safe unless the sea freezes then look out.

Except the NK now has a dragon.

Also don't get why water is such a huge deal to them. Like the NK and WW clearly aren't mindless creatures. Why they can't get the wights to build boats is beyond me.

The Night King is going to rule on the Iron Throne. He lived for 10,000 years before now. Time to rule the world.

Most of the highly populated areas of Essos are at the same or further south than Dorne, which never goes thru winter. In fact most of the continent is further south than KL.

Well there are legends in Essos that state similarities with the NK and all that.

In Essos there are giant fortresses that guard the eastern most side. Maybe to protect against the others. Also the Legend of Azor Ahai came from Essos and mentions the darkness (like the Long Night).

I guess it’s established the walkers can’t swim? What if they tried? They can’t exactly drown I don’t think.

But it's good.

They can organize huge salvage operations to haul dead dragons from below icy depths, but building boats is out of the question.

To me its why cant they just use the boats the humans would have left behind when they die

The explanation is probably something magical. They were made with Magic. They are bound to never cross water. Same as they could not cross the Wall. It wasn't the actual physical nature of the Wall that kept them out but the magical side of it. Not sure why Dragon fire allowed the Magic to be broken. Probably because Dragons are magical as well.

Didn't the seal "break" after Bran passed through again after he was touched by the Night King?

That was a theory but I don't know how much a I buy into that. Why would Bran do that knowingly?
