Just like The Aids. No matter how hot or how fresh there is no way I would take chances.

CDC seems like a good place to start rebuilding:

- Let the scientist do his thing and hopefully find an antivirus.
- Burn all the bodies in the area
- Setup a good perimeter using the military equipment.
- use the tanks and HumV's to go on reconnaissance missions and food runs.

All I know is I would have done a drive by on the CDC, seen what was up, and kept on truckin. There is nothing good to come from stopping there and walking through a sea of dead. They have already shown the zed will kind of hibernate when no food is around so there is no good way to get a good head count...

They need to find a place easy to fortify and begin to horde supplies and weapons.

The next gang they run into is not going to be babysitting grey hairs.

you don't think the giant supply of military equipment used as a last stand at the CDC would do?

Last stand implies used up.

The military would have used up the supplies they had when they were overrun. But what do i know. You may be right, the military may have been totally ineffective against the horde and left behind stockpile of weapons and ammo.

There are tons of good zombie fiction. I dont like to read books after I start watching a show like this. All it does is piss me off when the two diverge.

Thank god he opened if for them, otherwise they are in a gunfight with countless undead. A gunfight that was seemingly already lost by a trained military force.

They can't even go 5 minutes without getting covered in zombie blood... you really think they're smart enough to stockpile weapons and supplies?

FWIW the first fricking thing I'm doing during a zombie outbreak is gathering weapons and ammunition.

Also, do those frickers ever bathe? It looks like they're always covered in dried up blood and sweat...

Also... Meat, stop derailing the thread.

What I should have said was if I were in their shoes.

The CDC is in ATL. When Shane mentioned the army base he was speculating where a place to make a last stand would be if ATJ/CDC was over run it would most probably be moved to Fort Benning(?) a few hundred miles away.
last night Rick said they were a few miles northwest of the city right? Assuming outside the city means outside the perimeter, that puts them really, really close to Dobbins AFB.

quote:

Time line. Atl is close enough to walk but CDC may be on the other side of town so its still a lengthy trip to some extent. They pull off and before hitting town have the RV over heat and Jim wanting to get left by the tree. They handle the situation and continue to the CDC in Atl getting their lat afternoon early evening.
Right, If they are where Rick said they were, they'll be close to Smyrna area i'm guessing, the CDC is in Dekalb county, Not a real long ways but it's far enough, factor in the RV trouble and the time to set Rick out, loose track of time. Not real sure where those rural backroads were they were taking though lol, that whole area is pretty fricking urban.

Because they think you have to hit the zombie in the brain/head to make sure it doesn't come back..

To splatter as much infected zombie blood all over themselves as possible...

Good fricking question. Why not just decapitate them. A sword (like a katana) or ax would slice right through the neck and not throw blood everywhere. These assholes look like they are trying to impersonate Gallagher and hit the third row.

Now he may still need a fresh sample to work from so him infecting another is a possibility. They also can go up the road and dig up one of their friends or find Jim moping down the road. He may be testing everyone who just entered because he does not know their history and is just being safe. It would be the perfect way to slip someone the Zed virus.
i think it's pretty obvious he needs HUMAN flesh that has been infected, not already turned Zombie flesh. He had the sample frozen to halt the spread of the virus, thaws it piece by piece study it. His frozen samples were lost right? He plainly stated what he had left was DEAD flesh, Zombies are dead.

Marlon is going to infect someone. It's just a question of who it's going to be.
