Locamotive cow catcher/diverter in front of an 18 wheeler is what I was thinking of. Where there is a will there is a way.

Loving this show so far. Two questions:

1. When do you turn into a zombie? Are you bitten? Is it a virus? I fully expected the sister to turn after she died. (remember when they put the zombie guts on, he made the point to tell everyone "keep it away from your skin/eyes" I believe

2. Why is everyone making such a big deal out of guns...seems to me, if you have gas, you could easily drive to a densely populated town with a WalMart (or any store) and rack up on guns and ammo, etc. Why did they go to Atlanta to begin with? If you're going to go out for supplies, why the hell would you go to one of hte most populated areas in the country? Hell, go over to Macon or Athens or any less-populated town and get supplies.

Also, to the guy in this thread that proposed heading to the coast in a situation like this, Thank You...I now have my exit strategy when this happens in real life in a couple years. Never thought of it (I've always thought of building some underground bunker), but I do think being on the coast, having access to a boat is the best way to survive if all hell is breaking loose on land.

The rules need to be consistent. One can climb a chain link fence but none of them tried to go up the fire escape.

Completely forgot about it. The Usain Bolt Zombie totally vaulted that MFer. These rules are too inconsistent...they bash glass with a rock, jump fences, sense distinct changes in smell....

But can't run up a fire escape. I've always been of the opinion that there'd be no ingenuity if they were really zombies.

I'm starting to think this is actually Virus based and not "Zombie" related because the agility reminds me of 28 Days Later. Totally plausible we're talking virus, not Zombies.

Just sayin

After starting that thread you're going to pop in this one and ask for a consensus on the show? Really??

I bet Rowdy loaded that damn van up with friggin Zeds and just backed that shite up to camp, let em out, and hauled arse.
not in that van, the scene of inside the van had the cab of the van totally open to the cargo area. interesting theory though. maybe a plot hole.

If I remember correctly, the van did not have a partition between the cab & rear section, so I don't think walkers in the rear would have worked.
beat me to it

So if the white trash brother was reusing the crossbow bolts and shot that dude in the arse, shouldn't he turn? Obviously no way to be sure if it was clean or not. Just a nitpicking note I had.
i noticed that also. the show kinda made a point to show him re-using arrows. so if shot with a used arrow it would seem logical he would turn, but the black dude said it was a slow process, maybe he will get sick with the fever and die, then turn. damn i love this show.

it's only 4 episodes deep right now.

You can watch the entire 90 minute pilot here.

I'm sure you can catch a marathon or something by next week and be caught up.

These zombies are a lot worse than the old school ones, you know the ones with facepaint and could barely walk.

Ideally just lute you a yacht and live about 200 yds off the coast. Go back and hang out during the day and have nothing to worry about at night.
that kind of relates to what i think would be the perfect scenerio. if you're going to go the boat route, why not find a small island not far off the coast, the outer banks come to mind, or maybe the keys, sweep the island for zombies and be done with it, close enough to run back and forth for supplies and not have to worry about getting your arm chewed off when you go take a piss.

Athens is over and hour and Macon is 1.5 hours, that's traveling 70+ on the interstate bruh.

I'm in and out of thread so maybe this has been brought up.

Everyone keeps calling the water by the camp a lake.

It seems to me it is obviously a quarry.

it's a rock quarry, most every quarry i've seen has a lake, there was one not far from where i grew up, we used to swim there. that fricker was deep, 100+ ft. the water was always cold and clear.

I don't suppose there would be fish in a quarry?

A side point, since it appears obvious the zombies are in various states of decay, shouldn't that make the entire thing self limiting?

If they are decaying over at least a few months, seems the walkers will all be gone in short measure assuming the larger portion of the population was infected on the front end of Z day.

Plus, if the TWD zombies devour the living, it seems impossible that physically functioning zombies can exist long term. Assuming the physically functioning zombies are virus infected, they destroy their pray so no way there are new zombies being created that are a physical threat.

Am I right?
