I was waiting for hershel to make the cliched sacrifice myself to give the other more time. I surprised to see him survive
I don't get why Rick would keep that info from the group though.
Carol is a stupid whore and needed to meet her end lastnight, she's pointless.

The frustration at the idiocy of the group, and even the main characters, early on in this series, actually right up until the last half a dozen episodes I guess, was one of the most engrossing things about the show.
It's fun to imagine if you were in the same situation and second guessing what they are doing. I know I would do a lot of things differently.

Truth. But... she'll be nice zombie bait in the future. Darryl being the one to save her makes me
Edit: Oh, and I just wanted to reach through the screen and choke her and Lori both when they kept running in and out of the house looking for Carl instead of shooting zombies.

I haven't seen the comics but I absolutely hate Lori. The way she treated Rick after he said what happened with Shane just made me hate her even more. Great episode but would have been better had they let that bitch die.
I kige that

I didn't see boobs, but noticed the person was black, and the first thing I thought was it might be Morgan. I was too freaked out by the zombie pets to notice boobs. (I am pretty disappointed in myself actually.)
I thought the boobs were pretty obvious...not Dolly Parton obvious, but nonetheless...

I don't watch the Talking Dead either...I tivo WD and watch it commercial free, usually while TD is on.

BilJ The Walking Dead Season Finale So why does this chick keep zombie pets?
I don't care how much space you put after the word "spoiler alert"--keep the damn spoilers out of the TV show thread!!!! And yes, as far as the answer...I figured as much. Now stop.

I haven't seen any straight spoilers in here for next season (though if you consider a character's name who has already been cast a spoiler, who the hell knows for ya). Not sure how anything could be spoiled anyway, as the second season barely followed the comics at all. But no spoilers from stuff that hasn't occurred yet that I saw.
Yes, there have been. At least 3 that I counted.

Why do they want to head to the coast? So there' one less direction they can run (i.e. water)? Didn't they read World War Z? Zombies coming up from the depths to attack? Ships overrun with zombies?

Overall assessment:
1. The migration. What I got from this was that the helicopter just got them moving in one direction and they tend to start following each other. It just happened to move them towards the farm, but there are probably thousands leaving Atlanta in that manner, so its more like a wide wave than a concerted move directly to the farm. You only saw part of it.
2. Shooting the zombies. While fun... bought them very little time, wasted a lot of ammo, and got a few of them killed. Using the cars to lure the zombies away into some other direction would have been smarter, IMHO. Wouldn't have been nearly as cool on film though, and wouldn't have progressed the story away from the farm enough, which is what needed to happen.
3. Lori. Absolutely hate her. Hate everything about her. Hate her face. Hate her attitude. Hate what she has done to every male in her family.
4. Andrea. I guess they alluded to this on Talking Dead, but she's supposed to become some kind of bad arse zombie killer, which she is well on her way to. She's decent eye candy, if still a stupid blonde some times. Glad she's alive.
5. Hooded character. I don't get the pets. But swords have been overlooked long enough. Let's get some cutting going.
6. Rick. He's tired of people's shite. And with good reason. Maggie is off her fricking rocker, and Glenn is feeling he needs to step up to keep his woman. They both need to settle down, back Rick up, and learn a thing or two from Darryl, who is the only one in the whole goddamn show that seems to have his head screwed on right.
7. Darryl. If he dies, this show will have jumped the fricking shark in a big way.
8. Stopping for the night. Glenn was right, Rick was wrong. But not one of those knuckleheads had the idea of moving gas from the one car that had some to the car that didn't and finding a better place to stop.

I loved how Hershel's shotgun held 39 shells at a time..

So the whole time they migrated towards to the farm no other noises drew their attention to go a differnt direction? I find that hard to believe.

They certainly aren't as resourceful as they should be

Meh. I saw him reloading at least twice. With all the cutting back and forth to different people/encounters, I can excuse that.
I mean, if you want to nit pick on gun stuff... how about Lori banging headshots with the .38snubby from 30-40ft off the porch. Or Glenn and Andrea blasting away from a moving vehicle like none of the pro's on Top Shot has been close to doing?

We don't know that. They could have change direction multiple times.

Well... I'm thinking that there were just thousands and thousands of them. Sure, plenty of them peeled off to chase cows and what not. But they probably just gathered some more up along the way. And the geography probably had something to do with funneling some of them to get stuck in the mud, fall into rivers, etc. But there's this lane of high land or a ridge or something that just leads right up to the farm, and those several hundred just happened to be in that lane.
And they weren't really headed towards the farm house until they heard Carl shoot Shane... were they?

Now could be the time to go to Atlanta and get weapons...if we think the hoard has left the city in search of food.

They don't seem to have a shortage of guns. (yeah, they could get a few better ones I reckon). Ammo is another story. They blew through way too much on the farm and didn't get that much out of it.
Honestly... the scenarios where they have been overrun(i.e. the school, Shane/Rick's fight, the farm, when they saved Randall, etc.) no amount of guns would have changed the result really. And when they weren't overrun, machetes and fire axes would have sufficed I think.

it really doesnt make a difference if the herd traveled straight to the farm or if they switched directions 100 times and still managed to get there. the only point that matters is that the herd got to the group and fricked up life on the farm. they needed to get off that damn farm anyway
Posted on 3/19/12 at 10:02 am to coloradoBengal
They should really devise a trap or funnel to hoard them into an area....could be done at the prison I suppose.

My point was I don't think the helicopter directed them to the farm

But its that kind of thing that would get a large bunch of them moving in one direction, and then they would pick up stragglers along the way, growing the herd. Even if some on the edges peeled off to eat a barking dog, the herd would grow and continue to move together until some other signal the mass of them could see/hear changed their direction.

Looks like they tried to cover this by saying..."we can't all fit in the one car". Unless, of course, it's the big SUV--although Rick did say something about the red engine light being on? That little Volt or whatever the hell it is couldn't carry them I guess...in a zombie emergency, you SQUEEZE IN!

fair enough.
the helicopter appeared to be military so does that mean there is some sort of military stronghold of some sort that could provide definite protection?
