So are we to take the final scene as they killed the infected and burned them or the infected died and then were burned?
Think they are leaving it up to our imagination until next week

I, contrarily, feel the exact opposite. I find this show boring to say the least. We're now in season 4 and all we get each week are overly gruesome zombie slayings (yawn) or boring one-on-one dialog between secondary characters. This show has no direction nor is there any single character who I care lives or dies at this point. The dialog is poor and the acting is mediocre. I maintain that this is one of, if not the most overrated show on TV. The only reason I keep watching is because I'm invested.

I'm not here to be the contrarian but the show is severely overrated. Like I said, I still watch merely because I've watched every episode so far. I just don't see a single literary or artistic element that makes this show "great".
Then why/how are you invested at all in the show? It really hasn't changed much since the first episode, so why did you keep watching after, let's say, the first ten episodes or so (all of season one and 4ish episodes into season two)?

* No storyline. Governor is gone. New antagonist? The flu!
Well, this new sickness is a pretty big deal if it can kill people.
I'm not trying to be an arse, I just don't understand how or why you've watched the show up until now if you find it boring and don't like it. I'm not sure what you're expecting it to be, especially at this point.

Hershal says in the season preview that "they lost 12 of their own and two were killed in cold blood" Have to assume the were murdered or they would be part of the 12.

Then please, do yourself and us a favor and stop watching and posting in this thread.

Thank you for putting no spoilers on here. I had to skip several pages after reading ole boy's posts about some "educated" guessing.

OK I'm trying to remember if we ever figured out who that blond girl was on the ground in the cell? The camera paid attention to her longer than normal.

I glanced over the last 5 pages or so and am glad to see the usual back and forth bitching about spoilers is back.
Anyways, I thought the episode was pretty solid. I have been as big a critic as anyone about this show but everything about it seems better this season. The acting is better, the dialog is better, they are actually developing the characters!!!!! Really just much improved from some of the shite they have given us in the past. I am genuinely interested to see where they take it this season, the new producer was exactly what it needed.
How did this episode go over with everyone? I'm not gonna read 40 pages where 2/3s of it is bitching about what might be a spoiler.

I agree it was good. I think that's the general consensus on the board but with a segment still finding it boring. But overall while I don't think anyone is saying its up there with things like Breaking Bad, most are enjoying it for what it is.
For me, the zombie action has been good and kept things moving. The character parts have been pretty good - Darryl continues to develop as does Michonne. Hershel and his daughters are acting ZA appropriate. New crew has some potentially interesting characters.
The one thing about this last episode that gave me a little pause is how they are painting some of the new people as kind of ZA naive. With Carol having to sneak around to teach the kids about using knives. And the young girls treating the zombie like pets or something. I think even former Woodbury residents would be more tuned in to the new status quo than that. Heck, didn't they have to watch zombie fighting pits at Woodbury?). And certainly, anyone out on their own for all that time would be a lot more toughened.
I just hope the show doesn't back slide into silly or contrived plots like that. The "how far do we go to protect the group" (killing sick humans?) plot has potential IMO.

i find myself more and more curious about how this show will end
assuming it doesnt fizzle out too bad and they have time to plan a good ending, do you guys think theres a shot at a happy ending? some type of cure? some oasis?
i think because of the fact that everyone is already infected, they can never really escape the threat, no matter how secluded a place they can find themselves

I can understand "it is boring". Not a lot has happened. I have been most impressed by the acting/writing/dialog this season. It is just flat out better than past seasons. I think the plot will come around.

Anybody else think the governor could be sheep dogging that massive herd towards the prison?

I've been kind of wondering that myself

Hmmm, that would be awesome. Theories on how?

Okay, just catching up (recall my policy of waiting until a good cigar night to catch up on my shows).
Damn, seems like they got weak sitting in that prison for a while. I KNOW we have to suspend reality somewhat, but they haven't figured out any better way to deal with the constant Z threat at the perimeter fence?
Has the issue of burning an active Z been addressed in the show at this point?
Seems like a lot of people just hanging around not doing shite.
Why, in the frick, is the teaching of weapons even an issue at this point? Jesus titty-fricking Christ.
rabble rabble rabble.

Between Carl getting the itchy trigger finger and murdering that kid, and Rick not handling the pressure of being the leader, they decided to pretend they were safe in the prison. Remember when Rick found that gun buried in the ground in the first episode? He didn't think "alright, new gun", he threw it away. The first 2 episodes were about Rick pretending to be a farmer, but now that he's put his holster back on play time is over.
