Well I just had the whole show typed out and then my phone fricked up and deleted it.

Nothing too shocking tonight. Good steal for Gwen at the end.

Stevie Nicks seems kinda mean.

Taylor Swift seems like she will actually help next week. We shall see.

Stupid fricking goddamn phone.

Brittany v Ricky-I fully expected to like Brittany better than Ricky, but at the start, I felt her lower register wasn't so great. She didn't shine on this song. I thought Ricky's tone and overall performance was much better. I'd go with Ricky. Brittany was so good in the blinds. She was just blah on this song. Sorry to see that. Ricky wins.

Kensington v Reagan-really enjoyed that. Reagan was more engaging, but I couldn't understand a few words. I don't know if she forgot it or what. I lean toward Kensington. Either would good and the other will be stolen by Gwen. Damn. Gwen didn't steal. I'm surprised. Might be a mistake.
Dammit, ff'ing through battles. They must all lose the next round. I hate this.

Beth v Mia-well, there should be a steal here. Close race. I lean toward Beth to see in the future by a hair. Gwen with the dramatic steal. Good get for her. She can do something good with her.

Never did see whatever Pharrell was supposed to do. He was funny in Adam's decision.
Time for the battles. Hope we see all of them, dammit.

I sort of halfway read your posts. Sort of like I halfway listened when we would have a conversation.

I thought it was a little ridiculous that Pharrell got to the point where he was basically praising Reagan for things that she didn't even sing ("She skipped that note with so much swagger.." or whatever). That was stupid.

Also, Gwen rarely ever chooses a winner...she's always like "you both did such a good job and should be proud of yourselves."

Maybe it happens in the knockout rounds as each coach gets 1 steal. Who knows, maybe it wasn't shown after the trailer.

It was a strange way of putting it, but I think his point was that she didn't panic and kept going as a professional performer should. The "swagger" reference was silly, though.

Yeah, she never commits to an opinion of one over the other. On occasion, she details a performance other than from her own team, but rarely.

Wish you could remember your thoughts and post them. Maybe go through mine and agree or disagree.

Taylor vs Luke was amazing.

Taylor Swift was more amazing.

I thought some really great performances were eliminated tonight. Brutal format.
For some reason, I didn't like Taylor tonight, but I totally would have stolen him anyway. Dude is a beast.

I'm super pumped about Elyjah tomorrow. Dude has a great voice. Damien is also really growing on me. I wasn't a fan at first.

I thought Gwen's first chick was pretty good. Of course - That performance was 3 of the 5 total minutes I've watched this season.

I'm still on Team Taylor, he just needs to stick to his guitar and what's in his wheelhouse. I think Adam is the best fit for his style too.

It is super clear to me that coaches pretty much don't base their decisions on the performances. They look at the big picture that we often don't see.

Not reading the posts. Still watching and will post in a bit.

Well, crap. I lost the first part of my post. I leaned toward Bryanna in one. Pharrell is a good for for Sugar.
I thought James David was a bit blah compared to previous performances. Love that tone, though. Strange choice for a KO round. Went with him and so did Blake.
If there another battle, I already forgot it.
Danica v Katrice- Danica has strong pipes. Looks much better than last week's old lady look. I go with Danica. No steal of Katrice. Not quite there. Yep.

Damian v Toia-Damian sells the whole deal. I've liked him from the beginning, but I wasn't sure if his choice. He pulled it off. Toia has big pipes and looks comfortable. The start came off a little cheesy, but it didn't matter in the end. Toia stole it all. Hate to see Damian go, but I think he's hitting the road. Pharrell might be feeling some regret. Whoa! I didn't see that coming. I thought he'd go with the big performance. I'm glad he stuck with Damian. I agree with the reasons.
Jessie v Tanner-I think I thought Jessie was a strange steal for Blake. Jessie's first words have me convinced Tanner will win this. I just don't care for her style. It would get old for me. When her voice lapses into a bit normal, she could be better. Didn't like it. Tanner takes it for me and he's a better fit for Blake. I hope he keeps Tanner. Damn. I wanted to see that kid grow on the show. I hope we don't hear the same thing from Jessie over and over again.

Luke v Taylor-I'm tiring of the Hall and Oates repeats, but I like some of the variations Luke put in. There weren't enough of them. Didn't grab me. Taylor has a bit of a twang thing that annoyed me a bit and intrigued me a bit. I didn't love either. I might go with Taylor. Well, both will be safe. I think Taylor goes with Adam. Yep. Good fit.

I sure must have missed the boat on the Luke/Taylor performance. Maybe bc I was dining some other things while I watched. Neither slayed it in my opinion, but they're both damn good historically. I agee that coaches are looking back as they make decisions. That's a good thing.

I only got to watch the first half or so last night.

I love knockouts though, because they a) get to choose the song, and b) get to sing the whole thing (unlike the battles).

Bryana/Sugar. Bryana is good, but sounds almost pitchy at times I feel like. Sugar is talented. I think Bryana won, but Sugar is better, if that makes sense. And the loser should get stolen. And Pharrell just said if Sugar loses he's taking her; good for him. They'll be a good fit.

Griffin/James David Carter. I hope JDC wins. Odd song choice in You've Got a Friend because it's so low key, but he should make it work. And he did. His voice is so awesome. Stupid song for Griffin IMO, and it sounds like he's almost getting drowned out by the backup singers. Should be JDC easily. Yup. And his dad thanking Blake for investing his time in JDC was pretty cool.

Danica/Katriz. I like Danica and expect her to annihilate this Whitney Houston song. And she did...she's so fricking good. frick Katriz; I feel like Katriz can't win at this point.....well, she is doing really well actually. But she does sort of do the screanging thing that I hate. I still say Danica pretty easily since she's just so good. Yup.

One thing that is noticeable is how much Gwen and Pharrell seem to genuinely care about the show and its contestants. That's pretty cool to see, and obviously a huge step up from people like Christina and CeeLo, and even Shakira and Ursher (though they care more than the former). But Pharrell and Gwen seem to genuinely get excited at times, and you can tell they appreciate being on the show.
