that was a retarded choice of song. sing a song to sound like a man, and shelton never picks anyone who sings his or miranda lambert's songs.
her one song on the radio had to have been #1, the chick should still have money. her mansion got flooded, as if she didnt have flood insurance
I actually remember when Julie Roberts had her album out. My mom was a fan of hers so I'm actually surprised to see her on the show tonight.
Here is her "hit" song from her album.

Julie picked a really bad song for her voice.
The spike-haired Latino chick... wtf was everyone hearing in her voice that I was missing? She sound a little pitchy on a couple of notes, but most of the song was sent yelling at the mic like it was a noisy child (I had flashbacks to the bald lesbian from Season 1).
Adam nailed it on the guy with the raspy voice. He had a great, pure sound to his voice at times but would then seem to be forcing that rasp into it. I blame Carson for pushing him in that direction during the interview. fricking Carson...
I wonder if they are showing the performers and results in order because at times it looks like Shakira and Usher (Gusher... lulz!) seem more relaxed and then they seem less relaxed. It's a bit annoying.
The country singer (guy) at the end is a contender. He has a solid, strong, pure voice (very little, if any vibrato) that could handle multiple genres. I think Adam was a good pick for him as Adam is more likely to expand his abilities into other genres than Blake would be.
The country singing gal was pretty good as well, but I don't see her making it to the end.
The Swonn Brothers were good, the younger one seemed to have a better voice but I'm not 100% certain because he mainly harmonized. Would like to hear them sing something where they could both shine.
The rest were okay, but no final four material as far as I could tell.

I'm just now watching the first show. I'll take Shakira and Usher over those other two any day of the week.

Yeah, that guy was solid, no doubt.
The Cuban girl may surprise. I just have a feeling.

there are 3 legit frontrunners right now and they are all on team adam.

Yeah, I'm still trying to figure Urhser and Shakira out. I still am not crazy about either one of them quite yet. Shakira is TERRIBLE at convincing people to join her team though..."I know you will want to pick Blake, and then prolly Adam, but I think you should pick me." WTF?
frick off, Carson moment: When you're in the family room (where you shouldn't be anyway), don't tell the family "Don't worry about it...no matter what happens, this is a great thing." Well no, you frickhead. This is a pretty big deal for these people and could be HUGE for their loved one who's on the show. So shut the frick up. And later on he was talking to the TVs telling the judges to turn around...GET THE frick OUT OF THERE, CARSON, YOU DICK.
The Latina chick that Blake and Adam turned around for sucks...no idea what the frick they were doing there. Actually, there were several people that judges were turning for who sucked...i.e. the dude who was back from last year. He is BAAAAAD, but Shakira picked him. Weird.
That country chick Blake got is really fricking good.
That last country dude that Adam got...all I kept thinking was how ugly is his babymama because he's a good looking dude but his kids were weird little ugly ginger kids. And I kinda feel bad saying that, cuz they're just kids..but still, that's what I kept thinking the whole time he was singing.
Also, is it me or is the show different this year a little bit..? It's like each judge now is directly from a specific genre. Adam is pop rock, Shakira is Latin/global-ish, Usher is R&B/pop, and Blake is country. Which is cool, but it seems like every time someone comes up and sings, it's fairly obvious who they're gonna choose. Almost every country artist chooses Blake, for example. So every time judges are fighting over someone, it becomes a game of "Let's see how alike you and I are so you'll pick me" instead of "I can make you better and I want you on my team." I dunno, maybe it's just me, but it's kind of annoying the shite out of me. "Oh, you're from Texas? Well I am a country star from Oklahoma!!" "Oh, you sang in church growing up? Well SO DID I!!" "Oh, you speak Spanish? Well me too so let's talk some fricking Spanish!!!" I mean shite, Usher even tries to lure young chicks to his team by dropping Bieber's name. And I know The Voice has always had some of that, but now it feels like it happens on every contestant.

i think they are even making girls wear cowboy boots if they are country to make sure blake knows to take them.

Coco, as I hate Carson with the families as much as you, I was thinking of you last night when at one point, he was jumping up and down and hugging one family when a chair turned for their loved one like he just won the lottery or something.
Do you remember the part I'm talking about? It was WAY over the top, even for him.
He's the most annoying piece of shite.

Of course I do. I was yelling at my TV.

Shakira and Usher are not nearly as offensive as Xtina and CeeLo. I can't tell how good they'll be as mentors, yet.

how about when carson counseled that guy to make his voice raspy and weird cause having a "different" voice really sets you apart for the judges. So the guy goes out and does a big fake raspy run for 2 minutes and nobody picks him.
Posted on 4/2/13 at 10:52 am to Maximus
I missed that. I FFWD through all pre-performance bullshite. The only one I half-assed watched was the blonde country chick to see if she was from LA (saw the flood footage and wondered if it was Katrina). As soon as she said Nashville flood, I went back to FFWDing.
Posted on 4/2/13 at 11:00 am to CocomoLSU
it was the young guy who said it was his first gig and adam told him he sound like he was doing an impression.
and the poor nashville flood chick had probably a #1 country hit a few years back. they put sob stories even on famous singers.

Yeah, I mentioned that in my post as my big frick You, Carson moment of the night. That was the blonde guy with the beard doing Jackson Browne (I think). Carson has only slightly annoyed me up until that point. He told the kid that the judges love raspy so the kid goes out and over-rasps at points then doesn't rasp at all on others.
That bullshite is squarely on Carson's shoulders.

Carson needs to keep quiet. He's a goob.

Yeah. Damn her and that whole MS thing and losing everything in a flood.

both have a ton to do with whether her voice is good or not

I turned it on just as she started singing. What was her story? I've never heard of her.
