Trailer

quote:

A tight-knit group of friends and family band together to help Wade embrace his new normal in the wake of the loss of his wife a year earlier. As a sometimes ill-equipped but always devoted single parent to his two adolescent daughters, he is taking the major step of dating again

Anyone else watching this on Thursday? I'm at least giving it a chance because of Walton Goggins. Also has Rob Corddry but it will definitely be a different role for Goggins

Any actor that can go from this..

to a widower with kids clueless about dating is an amazing actor in my book

Goggins is also killing it in The Righteous Gemstones

(full disclosure...I've never seen Justified)

Same. Lee Russell had so many great moments in Vice Principals. It's a shame more people haven't seen the show.

if his life was interesting enough for a movie (don't know if it is or isn't), then I'd expect Goggins to be clear cut choice #1 to play Bernie Sanders.

I loved that show. Stinks that it only had 2 seasons...but it worked the way they resolved it all in the end.

Not sure how good it will be...but they had pulled together an awesome cast.

Goggins and Corddry, as mentioned by others, are fantastic. Personally, I think Michaela Watkins has really good comedic timing. That is a really great ensemble.

Goggins has the range to pull it off.

I’m just hoping that some good writers are involved, because the premise could produce some banal crap.
Will definitely give it a shot.

Thought the first episode was pretty good. One of the few shows I can see the wife and I agreeing on. I have yet to see Goggins play a bad character. The only problem I see is that the premise of the show is basically his reintroduction to the dating scene after his wife dies ... I’m not sure how many episodes you can squeeze out of the “reintroduction” before every episode just seems to be the same.

I thought it was pretty bad. Even Goggins wasn't that good. Maybe he doesn't do subdued characters that well or maybe it was just the writing. I guess I'll give next week a shot.

Same here. Wasn't great. Wasn't bad. It was good enough to get at least a second week's viewing.

It was entertaining enough. It seems like it fills the atmospheric void left by the premature canceling of Splitting Up Together.
