Their interactions over the Beatles and "football" were priceless. Reminded me of the scholarly and intellectual priests and brothers that I knew growing up who were completely out of touch with pop culture.

In the 60's, our Bishop called in a monsignior and told him that he kept hearing about "this Playboy magazine". He had Monsignior go to the newsstand and buy him a copy so that he could see what the fuss was all about.

As a Catholic, I'll take a pass on this one.

You didn’t see it because that wasn’t the subject at all

It was definitely a subject in the movie.

Watched this one earlier this week. I thought it was great. Two popes were cast perfectly. Hoppins is at his best. Sounds cheesy but it’s so interesting bc it’s a story I never would have thought I wanted to know. I was raised catholic so I’m probably biased but it’s one of those films where you’re constantly googling to verify details . I’m sure there is plenty of speculation and liberties taken but it highlights a pivotal time in the church that I wasn’t really aware of when it was going on.

Literally none of the conversations took place. The director openly states accuracy isn’t his intent.
