You can, but I'd recommend watching season 1 first and then dark Wolf personally.

If you watched Terminal List Season 1 then absolutely watch Dark Wolf before Season two. There seem to be quite a few characters from Dark Wolf that have big roles in season two. And it’s really good so well worth it.
I love what they did with Ben in the series. In the book he was a minor character…more or less same background and similar contribution to the overall situation. But the series gives a lot more background on him and his relationship with Reece and makes him a great lead character in the prequel. Dark Wolf shows how he left the teams and ended up with the CIA. Kitsch is great in these type of roles. Looking forward to the next season of Dark Wolf, too.

Between his platoon getting wiped out in the tunnel to all the people he killed after in Season 1, I guess the reporter chic is going to be one of those roles since she was one of the few to make it?

Those are characters that would have appeared even if Dark Wolf had never been made. They are characters from the books. Dark Wolf was a prequal with the means to give a little back story to the book characters which it did very well.

Yep. But watching Dark Wolf first gives you an understanding of who they are going into the new season.
I’m two episodes into the new season so no idea what’s going to be different from the books. But if you watch Dark Wolf you’re know a lot more about the backstory of one of the terrorists, Raife and his family. Also saw Landry in the previews for this season.
It’s a great book series. If they stay in tune in with the books it should stay a good show.

2 eps in and this is good. Really following the book and solid.

LSUbacchus, I would watch Dark Wolf. It was worth the watch. You also see why he was kicked out of the Seal Unit and clues you in on how close him and Reese were.
I might watch DW and S1 of TL again before watching TL2.

Definitely need to watch Dark Wolf before season 2, as there are a good bit of characters from Dark Wolf in it.

If you haven't seen any, I'd actually go Dark Wolf first, then Terminal List season 1.
That's the proper timeline, and it sets up the character dynamics... you get a hint of who James Reece is, and his sense of honor. It develops who Ben Edwards is (plays a big part in S1), and I think sets up who Raife Hastings is for S2.
The only issue about watching both, is ... well, once you see both those shows, you will know. And it will suck
This is a rare example of a show being made so well that it creates an issue with the source material.

Watched whole season yesterday. Pretty good. Only dumb thing is the one bad guy escaping from the cargo ship. How?
The only exit was crawling out the front through the sniper screen and a straight drop what.. 40 ft? They were sealed inside and were using oxygen to stay hidden.

Spoilers?
Anyway, I also just finished season 2. Pretty good, and much more layered than S1. Leaves the door wide open for future seasons.
For those who have not read the books, definitely watch Dark Wolf; several characters from that season appear in this season of TL. I don't think the order matters, but the back stories help with continuity.

I read the first 5 books of the series. I really enjoy the show, but having a hard time getting past the casting of Katie.
That’s really the only miss for me.

Read an article today that had Chris Pratt saying he would basically like to play James Resse till he retired from acting
Found it
quote:
"I think success in this season would certainly be helpful to continue to tell these stories," Pratt said. "There's nothing official yet, but man, we have a lot of ideas." Costar Tom Hopper also shared his hopes for the show's future. He told Men's Journal he wants the series to adapt Savage Son, the third book in Carr's series. "I want to make Savage Son," Hopper said. "I think Savage Son has a story."
Pratt expressed deep commitment to the franchise beyond just a third season. In a separate interview with ComingSoon, Pratt revealed his long-term vision for the character. "James Reece's last mission is going to be he's going to eat a steak without his dentures in," he joked. "Sorry, Amazon, this is for life."
Pratt also teased multiple spin-off projects based on supporting characters from the series. He mentioned Cry Havoc and the Dark Wolf prequel as potential stories worth exploring. "I think there's a lot of these supporting characters that deserve their own stories," Pratt said. He specifically expressed curiosity about the Hastings family and their ranch.
