Also...
I just watched Event Horizon for first time last night based on the responses in this thread. My expectations were high. I was actually excited to watch it. But I’m sad to report that I was disappointed (shrugs)
It lost a lot when it left the theaters... not to mention it is fairly old at this point.

Pet Sematary was one of the only movies that ever scared or creeped me out.

Fire in the sky
Easily the most frightening alien abduction movie ever made.

I've never really been scared, but I've gotten a creepy, sickened feeling from some certain movies.
Poltergeist
Pet Sematary
I Spit on Your Grave
Deliverance
Hellraiser
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original)

Fire in the Sky messed me up. Saw that one of the first times I stayed home alone. I just knew if I looked out the window I'd see an alien pressed up against it watching me.
Edit: didn't see this movie listed 2 posts up, my bad haha!

Gone Girl.
It seems realistic that it could be relatively easy to pull off a frame like that in today's day and age.

1. Don't be Afraid of the Dark (1973)
2. Fire In the Sky.
3. Coma (1979)

1.) 28 Days Later
2.) Event Horizon
3.) Drag me to Hell (it's scary and hilarious at the same time)

probably has to be The Exorcist. What's crazy, is that the cut "for TV" version is the one I saw as a kid, and it bothered me more than seeing the uncut version.
Something about the vulgarities humanizes the demon and takes the edge off, while the cut version demon is just so incredibly hateful and evil.
Some of the sounds from that film make me physically ill, to this day.
