Also a fair point.

Grabbing and throwing a block is different than stepping into a throw when throwing a ball from left center.

I didn't say that he would be an athlete or have proper form, but even a toddler figures out how to throw a ball further than he did.

Exactly, this is now NillaWafer threw before I taught her how to when she started Tball.

She could throw overhand just fine, but didn’t know how to step into it, and looked just like smalls before I taught her. Think kids typically will step with the foot on the same side they are throwing on until they are taught differently.

As you know it makes a big difference in how far and hard they can throw a ball. No 2 year old is throwing with proper form instinctively.

I can buy that he never learned how to catch, that requires at least a little practice. But to never have thrown a spherical object is just not possible.

Clearly from the gif he knew how to throw a spherical object like 3’.

Agree with that.

Lucas does the same shite I assume. He can "toss" a ball just fine. But can't step into a baseball throw.

Stepping into a throw is awkward for a little kid. The instinct is to step on the same side as the throwing arm and it's hard to break that instinct (or habit) and get them stepping opposite.

At the end of the movie, why is the legendary Jet pinch running?
He’s not a starter? He’s in his late 30’s maybe early 40’s. Is he a utility guy?

And when Babe Ruth visits Benny in the dream and takes his Hank Aaron card?
Kind of a dick move by The Babe there.

a 40 year old in 1993 was old as shite.

he asked for it at least and didn't just steal it.

makes you wonder though, did the ghost of Babe know Hank would eventually become the HR king?
i mean in 1962 he wouldn't have even been halfway there yet.

Bertram is atypically tall for a second baseman.

He's basically the movie version of Dave Roberts pinch running for the Red Sox in the 2004 ALCS.

It was just a dream sequence, nice little nod to Hank Aaron eventually breaking the all time HR record.

Not to mention he’s hitting home runs after playing for a couple weeks at most.

No private lessons, pro hitting coach, nothing.

It’s still a dick move. fricking Ghost Babe supernaturally knew Hank was going to break the record and the card would be worth some money. If you want it, trade one of your cards for it. You’re a damn ghost. Why do you need a baseball card.

he hit one homerun, not like he morphed into roided up Barry Bonds.

plus I coached kids.
you'd be surprised how often kids that typically can't hit for shite accidentally get into one and give it a ride.

I always took it as "I think there's something special about this Aaron guy, I wouldn't mind having this". I love that entire scene so much. The Hank Aaron baseball card is just a hidden gem.

"Remember, kid, there's heroes and there's legends. Heroes get remembered, but legends never die. Follow your heart, kid, and you'll never go wrong." Quotes don't get much better than that.

Have you never seen celebrities/politicians try to throw the first pitch? Some of them are closer to first base than home plate.

It was a dream sequence with ghost Babe Ruth, he didn't really take the kid's card.
