Or when she says, "I get air sick, car sick, sea sick. I'm going to throw up all over you." Then Arnold says,"Go ahead. It won't show on this shirt."

The book game shows were much closer to today's reality TV than I could have ever imagined.
The movie was just 80's Arnold goodness.
I wish they would make a movie of Long Walk.
That was always my favorite short story.

The Long Walk was better than The Running Man...

But we all know the GOAT Bachman story is Rage.

Don't think it'll ever see the screen. King took it out of print after Columbine and if I know him, he purchased the movie rights back at the same time.

Yeah, I've never gotten the "Hunger Games ripped of Battle Royale" other than kids aspect. Running Man always seemed much closer to me. I guess the people complaining about Battle Royale were too young realize the true inspiration.

Anybody too young to know The Running Man ...I don't want to know. If you didn't live through the glory of over the top Arnold cheese 80s action flicks, I feel for you.

I'm starting a spinoff thread on this.

It also contains the cheesiest line ever in "Here is Sub-Zero. Now...... PLAIN ZERO!" To this day I don't understand what he was trying to get at with that comeback.

I could be wrong here but I think they were going for calling him A zero. In the 80's calling someone a "zero" was an insult.

I always remember Arnold trying to get Dynamo's attention...

"Heeeey! Christmas Tree!"

That was my favorite of the Bachman books, too, but I think it'd be hard to do a movie where the cast is walking the whole time.

I forget the little bastard's name who kept saying "I'll walk over your grave, Garraty!" Hated that kid

ETA: Barkovitch, that's the fricker's name

If done properly, I think it would be riveting. Seeing kids slowing down or unable to continue getting their three warnings and finally shot would be very emotional. Plus, there is just so much potential for human drama exploring the walkers' relationships.

I don't know...

I group the running man in with movies like Over the Top and No Holds Barred. Just pure 80's unrealistic but action packed flicks
