Yeah, you do have to detach from the lore. Lots of holes. Seems like the target audience is the casual viewer who liked the Hobbit (another poorly conceived cash grab). Like that, is does give us familiar names, and relatively decent action.
It generally looks nice. I wish it wasn't so shallow with the actual connections to the lore, they really could have done something impressive

Indeed. If he doesn’t like the show and hates all the lore breaking that’s perfectly fine. That’s his opinion. The fact that he tries to bomb every thread for any show or movie that others might enjoy but he doesn’t is a problem.
Hell, he started his own thread about how he doesn’t like the show. That’s also perfectly fine. But if he’s started that thread, why bother bugging people in this thread so much?
ETA: and it’s even worse because he doesn’t watch the damn show. He just follows YouTube reviews of likeminded individuals.

It most certainly never had a chance to be that good. Not enough story was there to be that good and as true to source because not enough source is there. Too much was going to have to be filled in with this story no matter what. This is just ridiculous to think this, that's why I said for years they should never try to make a show or movie based on this age, it's too hard to adapt because not enough source is there.

The Hobbit is 310 pages
The first age portion of the silmarillion is 300 pages
The second age portion of the Silmarillion is 30 pages.

Season 2 is still better than the first season. I actually looked forward to new episodes of this season, which wasn’t the case for Season 1. It doesn’t always have to be so serious when it comes to a TV show that no one is forcing anyone to watch.

I’m not completely caught up but just finished Episode 7 which was incredible.
Does Season 2 have issues? Yes. Is it better than Season 1 and worth watching now? 100%
