I'm not on this board much and I'm sure this movie has been discussed, but I wanted to chime in. Best movie I've seen in the last 5 years. The new Star Wars movie is good, but not nearly as good as the Revenant. The bear scene was unreal and I do believe Leonardo will win his first Oscar.

Great movie and great acting by Leo/Hardy. Unfortunately, this board is full of Star Wars/comic book freaks who think Leo and the Revenant were unimpressive.

Hardy was great as well. Did he get the nod for best supporting actor?

I'm a fan of a lot of Leo's work, and I thought he was great in this movie.

A lot of the shots were unreal and really intense (bear scene, the first Indian attack)

But I still think Tom Hardy stole the show.

I loved this movie. Tom Hardy should definitely win best supporting actor. My only gripe is that it was a little too long. Some of the random nature scenes could have been left out

What is the movie about? All I heard is that he got raped by a bear...

I'm going to have to go see this one. It is rare to find a good movie these days. Most are either remakes or SciFi it seems. I like good old fashioned character driven movies. I hope this genre makes a comeback over the next few years.

Leo gets raped by a bear, and the movie is about his subsequent journey to self-acceptance and forgiveness through a support group.

Leo gets all the hype for this movie but Hardy kills it. Both are great but without Hardy movie wouldn't be as good. Only thing I didn't like about movie is the middle part kinda drug a little. Great movie but think spotlight takes Oscar from it.

I agree that without Hardy, Leo's role is diminished. I wouldn't be surprised if they both win Oscars.

Science fiction is probably the most neglected genre in film (outside of fantasy).

I've seen better movies this month (Sicaro). I got bored during Revenant. Kept checking my phone while watching it.

Not I. Haven't seen the new Star Wars (or Episode VI).

I would have but Tom Hardy kept the boredom away.

Very good movie. Was brutal from start to finish. It's gonna win some Oscars in a few categories. Cinematography was outstanding on it.

Agree. Leo deserves the hype, but Hardy was fantastic as well

Haven't seen spotlight yet but heard great things. Revenant and Big Short were my 2 favorite from the nominee list, so would be happy with either winning
