Anyone know why they went with a young actor in old man makeup instead of just using an old man?
Because Guy Pearce is a really good actor?

Was there young man footage cut from the movie, or are they setting us up for a pre-prequel?
There was young man viral marketing.
It was a clip of Pearce giving a Steve Jobs type speech to a crowd

After I got out I kind of laughed bc all the people that whined and cried about the movie being pg13. It was a pg13 movie. 1 f bomb and a c- section. They just changed the ratings to make people shut up. Not hating I just wanted to rant for a second.
I really liked the movie overall. I couldn't believe how pretty it was. Man Scott did and awesome job with the visuals. I was thinking during the movie that this movie will probably still look good 20 years from now. I had no complaints with the acting overall; It had Luther in it so that was nice. Scott likes him some female leads, granted this one had to be seeing as it was an Alien prequel, but he made a nice casting choice again with this one. She carried the movie pretty good. He didn't make the viewer have a "o come on what was that!?" moment with her like she was a superhero or something. The back story was awesome. I was laughing at the c-section, I told my buddy while it was going on that the think looked like the claw/toy grabber thing. So my buddy like not even whispering goes "congratulations you've won an alien baby." It's not even that great of a joke but I was freaking dying laughing for a while. I would have fathers that alien baby though. She was hot to me in an odd way. It's funny that her baby came back and saved her lfe. My main complaint was the ending scene, the alien crawling out like some baby T-rex. But they kind of had to do that scene to fully transition in to Alien.

I've been thinking this about her for awhile now.
This thread was a good read until Lacour came in cunting it up.

Guess I'll have to give it a read.

But Charlize Theron was the honey of the movie, let's be real here.

By pointing out how terrible and poorly written and "WTF?" the movie is?
Sorry for not sheeping in up with you

Hey look! I hated Prometheus! I'm not a sheep!
No. Because we had a good 6 or 7 pages of discussion about the movie until you came in to tell us in 50 posts that you didn't like the movie for the next 8 pages.

So it was just me casting stones?
I seem to recall about a 10-12 posters commenting on how bad the movie was.
But single me out.
HERETIC!!!!

The more my friends and I discuss the movie, the worse it gets. *casting stones*

You are the most prominent. Go start at page 7 and count how many times you pop in to talk about how you didn't like the movie.
That's called cunting up a thread.

I came out of the theater disappointed and pissed. But the more I think and talk about it, the more I like it.
But I think it's the story that I like better and better, not the movie.

The theory we came up with was Christianity.
So basically Engineers got mad cuz we killed Baby Jesus

Or got mad because people started worshiping Jesus and not the engineers anymore.
(I think both of those theories are incorrect though)

Well then they should have loved the jews.

That was my theory.
In the link posted a few pages back, Ridley Scott said it was going to be a "children misbehaving" kind of thing where the Engineers sent Jesus to have us settle down and they were going to get revenge. Scott said they backed away from making that point so obvious because it was too "on the nose" were the words he used.

Wait, so the engineers want to destroy mankind because of Christianity?
Christianity alone? What about all the other religions of the world?

What do you think it was then?
I'm leaning toward the Engineers get mad because we killed Jesus theory like was in the blog article.

On the nose?
He just lacked conviction to follow through with that thread. And that goes for a lot of the film.
