I feel like I should’ve elaborated. It looks like a silly cartoon. And it’s not supposed to look like a cartoon at all. Supposed to look like a live action movie. That’s the problem. I’m also not just talking about tone. I’m talking about special effects as well.

I’m sure there are many other problems. We’ll find out.

I’m going to keep giving my opinions, Betty.

I saw JW Rebirth. Terrible movie. I avoided reviews so i could see for myself.

I’m hearing not great things about another movie but I will still see it just because.

I’m not paying to see Superman or FF. I’m just commenting on what James Gunn is saying, and it’s Rachel Zegler territory. Plus, it’s James Gunn who got “cancelled” then brought back . He should have stayed cancelled.

SouthEasternKaiju would be furious about Superman in the 40s

I'm for equal treatment.

Preferably no cancellations.

think the problem is that it looks like a cartoon

The characters kinda remind me of the Superfriends Saturday morning cartoons from the 80s.

More fake head canon to justify Gunn’s BS agenda messaging.

People are overly concerned that this movie might actually be more for kids unlike the Snyder-verse. Sorry it might appeal to teens and under vs the 45 yr old men.

Superman’s majority fans are 23-31 years old

Superman is like Spider-man. It's everyone.

He's a character who has been around since the 40s. There are comics, cartoons, video games, movies, coloring books, etc.

This is the first Superman movie aimed at families since Superman Returns.

I strongly disagree that the majority of Superman fans are in an 8 year window and mostly comprised of Gen Z.

There’s different ways to determine popularity. The biggest demo for comic sales are 23-31 but the 80s and 90s were peak popularity for Superman. Either way you look at it the fanbase for Superman is older.

And that’s a problem. Kids don’t care about Superman. None of my kids care to see this. I’m going to have to bribe them with candy lol.

Personal opinions of what you or I want in a Superman movie are irrelevant. I wanted the movie to do well for theaters and superhero movies in general. And there’s concern there.

It looked like hot garbage in the previews and we really didn’t need another Superman movie..

Man of Steel: $116M opening, $670M global

skipping to the Synder-verse killer

Justice League: $93M opening, $661M global

I dont see how this one cant do similar numbers. especially given how much more successful Gunn movies have been

Man, I hope it does. I also hope I like it. Those are two different things. There’s no reason to fight about this lol. There is some legitimate concern that people have about this. There was concern in screenings. The trailers are concerning for a lot of people. It’s legitimate. It’s ok to admit that then also say you think despite all that it will do well.

I completely agree. I think only one of my posts were even directed at you.

I'm mostly just trying to check the blind hatred posts that hope everything fails.

I have more concern for Fantastic Four actually being a good movie than I do Superman. This just feels like Guardians of the Galaxy 1 release all over again.

eta: and Gunn is mostly pulling from All Star Superman which is one of the best modern runs in Superman comics

And? It’s a data sample and I gave another example as well. Have you supported any of your claims? I haven’t seen it if you have.
