Kimmel was hilarious. Incorporating mean tweets and his Matt Damon feud were perfect.

What did you all think?

Loved the opening song and the tour group. One of the best Oscar shows because they changed things up in a good way. Looking forward to hearing how PwC explains the Best Picture envelope error. I thought all on stage handled the mistake as well as you could.

Love seeing all the melting triggered conservative snowflakes on social media

As I predicted... so much melting and triggering

Safe spaces will be at capacity the next few days

The Oscar's prove that once again it's the right that is most triggered and most need a safe space

Watching Hollywood suck each other off, sounds like a great time.

Hard pass

Lulz. "Safe spaces" are exclusive to crybaby liberals. That broadcast was their safe space.

Why would the right be triggered. They won everything.

Kimmel was perfect. He didn't try to oversell the jokes.

The jokes themselves were on-target. They didn't go overboard on the Trump bashing or on the topic of last year's show being "racist".

The opening number was good. They didn't try to make it an Oscar moment. They just had a great performer come out and open the show.

The Mean Tweets were run-of-the-mill, but the bit with the tourists was awesome. A nice mixture of sweet fan adoration and bringing the proceedings back down to Earth. For a little while the stars had to back off of calling each other national treasures and see that to the rest of us they're mostly attractions to distract us from daily life.

The Matt Damon stuff was a great running gag. Unfortunately Kimmel won't be able to return to that well if he does the gig again. But for one night, it was damn funny.

Ben Affleck and "Guest" was my favorite line of the night.

I know you're trolling, but I'll respond anyway. I'm actually a little curious if there were a lot of anti-Trump speeches last night as I didn't watch a second of the show.

Kimmel's jokes aside, (which were directed at the Academy and Trump), I only remember three overt statements, one from a Mexican presenter, one from one of the early design type awards, and one from a statement from the Foreign Language winner who didn't attend because of the immigration policy.

I don't recall anything from the major winners though.

I wouldn't know. I took the red pill. I chose no brainwashing.

Apparently this is not true considering all the bitching the right dingers have done over this.

Didn't watch the entire show, but Kimmel is pretty good at bringing perspective to the event and knocking people down a peg or two. He's real. His line about "I also can't wait for Fast & Furious 7" after the Academy President's pretentious speech about film & art was dead on.

Everyone likes Kimmel and he doesn't make a point to get too political. Would like to see him host more.

To expand on this:
Fallon or Corden would've been overly fawning and "in awe" of the stars around them.
Colbert or Meyers would've been 100% political from start to finish.

We lucked out because Kimmel is on the Oscars' network. Hopefully they'll bring him back every couple of years.

His only misstep was in not taking full charge during the Best Picture fiasco. He went straight to jokes while Horowitz took charge and made the actual winner announcement.

I thought kimmel was really good. He took some shots at trump but I thought he took shots at a lot of people so it was overtly trump-bashing. For it being such a self-righteous pretentious exercise, it was at least entertaining.
