And when did kai become acceptable? It's not hard to find the original unbastardized version to watch.
What? I don't give a shite about Goku and Piccolo going to take their drivers test or watching Goku try and summon the spirit bomb for literally an entire episode. The filler in DBZ was horrible IMO. I own it all on DvD regardless and have zero desire to watch the show w/ filler.
I'd rather get the exact same story in 130ish episodes compared to like 220.

People often talk about how they miss Gohan when he was a badass.
This was maybe 3 or 4 episodes. Gohan sucks.

The universal tournament with Pikon was good. I always wanted to see more of that.

I see Beerus is the villain of DBS now. Where does Battle of the Gods fit in the timeline? I never saw the movies in order so I'm always confused about where they fit in but Battle of the Gods was made before DBS.
Unless I read wrong back when Super debuted in Japan, Super starts, like someone already said, right after the Buu saga.
Battle of Gods and Resurrection F also take place during the ten year gap between the final battle with Buu and the end of Z (when Goku first encounters Uub).
I know the beginning of Super takes place before the most recent films.

It says in the first episode "6 months after".

Even though you just used that as an excuse to post awesome gifs I'll reply anyway
These gifs just helped me illustrate the cold hearted badass Vegeta once was. He's awesome throughout DBZ, but damn he was awesome on Namek and as Majin Vegeta.
Those moments of his, where he showed love and care for his family/friends in the Perfect Cell and Majin Buu saga
And this scene from the Frieza saga.

Gohan was amazing in his limited time as the strongest fighter. Just because he didn't sustain his status as Earth's hero doesn't take away from what he did vs Cell.

Gohan sucks
Great Saiyaman and school boy Gohan sucks. I agree.

Of course school bitchboy Gohan sucks. It's terrible how they made ChiChi ruin his life.

She has ruined Goten as well. Kid was a 7 year old with Cell saga Goku power and has turned into a complete pussy in DBS

Damn, that sucks. I made it to episode 10 of DBS before I stopped to wait out the English dub.

Future Trunks is still a badass

New DBZ Abridged: Broly Movie
Pretty fricking good. Piccolo comes up clutch as a father figure for Gohan once again. And S&M alien slaves...

Beerus is awesome. I wonder how strong the caveman dude really is?
What do you know? He actually has a name. Chief Moginaian

question about Super. Are the first several episodes just the last two movies?
Posted on 1/17/17 at 6:30 am to BulldogXero
I've only seen up to episode 8 iirc. Pretty sure they move quickly past the events of Battle of Gods.

Yes, but they change things in the show a bit. For example, in the movie Goku pushes Beerus to, uh, 90% of his power....I think? In the show Beerus far outweighs he and Vegeta. He is magnitudes stronger than they are. This changes the events slightly, same basic idea though. Then there is a small training arc where Goku and Vegeta are being trained by Whistler. Then Frieza shows up again. After that, it moves on to new material.
Frieza arc ends around episode 29 or 30 if I remember correctly.

Do you ever stop and think that without Yajirobe there never would've been a Dragon Ball Z in the first place? Vegeta would be killed everyone and destroyed the planet if not for Yajirobe

Well, without Korin it's the same thing. How many times have the magical plot device known as sensu beans saved their asses?
Korin also contributes a lot in here, so there's that too.

So are the movies non-canon then?

Nope. My understanding is the super Manga is not as well.
