I think BoG beat this movie by a hair. Only because it included more characters.
Other than that, it was a great addition to the DBZ story!

It was incredible watching Goku and Frieza fight again. The fight scenes were fantastic.

Sooooo...Resurrection F was pretty fricking amazing.

My only gripe was that Gohan got bitched...again. I was hoping he'd have an extended fighting scene with the red guy or at least stall Frieza for a few minutes before Goku and Vegeta got back.

I just got out of it at Perkins row. Pretty damn cool. I hadn't seen it before because I didn't want to take away from the theater experience.
Two minor take aways.
It is almost painful how much of a total bitch they have made Gohan.
They further reinforced that power levels mean absolutely nothing and Toriyama just pulls numbers out of his arse. When Frieza was talking about training for the first time in his life he says that if he trains for 4 months he can raise his power level to either 1.3 or 1.4 million (can't remember exact number). Why does he even bother putting an actual number on it anymore?
Maybe I misheard, and they actually said billion. I don't think that actually adds up either though.

your take aways were pretty spot on. my theater actually groaned when they first show gohan being a bitch and carrying presents. its like they are purposely just bitching him up as much as possible. loved the bitch comment about yamcha
why are they making it such a big deal that goku and vegeta never want to work together? it feels like a set up that shows they will have to.
also felt odd not having goten and trunks in it.

movie was great and while some parts were funny i had this fat kid in an orange shirt that had the most annoying and loud laugh ever and he would laugh when shite wasnt even funny

Dude. BnG, I know you're better than this. Goku and Vegeta's shaky forced alliance out of mutual respect as fighters and sayains coupled with hatred and jealously is a cornerstone of the show.

i get that. but they stated this multiple times as if to make us think it can never happen. it feels more like foreshadowing that a showdown will take place where they have to team up. when whis mentions how they could beat beerus if they teamed up, its almost like that will happen at some point.
its an old movie trope: "i hope i dont have to use this gun." they clearly will have to use the gun.
eta: that whole scene with whis foreshadows everything. he points out each of goku and vegetas weakness, and they both lose later on due to them.

This is my favorite topic on this website I always lurk. I just watch the new movie and it hurts me so much what they turned Gohan into. I grew up watching DBZ and loved every moment when Gohan would go crazy, then to finally see that power unleashed was my favorite tv moment.

Now he can't even talk a punch from Frieza in his first form. I wonder how the new show will add drama now that every character is useless besides Goku and Vegeta. Is it stupid of me for holding out hope that they will make Gohan useful again in the new show.

Just finished episode 5 of the show.
Solid episode. The fight was great.
Next episode looks to be hilarious.
Beerus and Whis are set up much better and much more intense in the show than they were in BotG
