I want to see more of that. The Frieza as Hannibal was perfect

I just got out of it at Perkins row. Pretty damn cool. I hadn't seen it before because I didn't want to take away from the theater experience.

Two minor take aways.

It is almost painful how much of a total bitch they have made Gohan.

They further reinforced that power levels mean absolutely nothing and Toriyama just pulls numbers out of his arse. When Frieza was talking about training for the first time in his life he says that if he trains for 4 months he can raise his power level to either 1.3 or 1.4 million (can't remember exact number). Why does he even bother putting an actual number on it anymore?

Maybe I misheard, and they actually said billion. I don't think that actually adds up either though.

SSJ2 Gohan is the height of pure awesomeness on the show. Then he becomes the great saiyaman and my soul died a little.

Then Mystic Gohan appears and bitched the frick out of Buu and I get all excited and Gohan totally redeems himself. Then loses it again.

Now in the new show he's a little bitch again.

On the brightside, he might turn back into a super bad arse as is tradition at this point.

Dude. BnG, I know you're better than this. Goku and Vegeta's shaky forced alliance out of mutual respect as fighters and sayains coupled with hatred and jealously is a cornerstone of the show.

This is my favorite topic on this website I always lurk. I just watch the new movie and it hurts me so much what they turned Gohan into. I grew up watching DBZ and loved every moment when Gohan would go crazy, then to finally see that power unleashed was my favorite tv moment.

Now he can't even talk a punch from Frieza in his first form. I wonder how the new show will add drama now that every character is useless besides Goku and Vegeta. Is it stupid of me for holding out hope that they will make Gohan useful again in the new show.

Just finished episode 5 of the show.

Solid episode. The fight was great.

Next episode looks to be hilarious.

Beerus and Whis are set up much better and much more intense in the show than they were in BotG

Vegeta is the master

Gohan being able to control his hidden power vs cell and then having it unlocked again vs buu ultimately tied Toriyama's hands into either making him the main protagonist or a baby back bitch that stopped training. I've read that Toriyama wanted Gohan to be the main protagonist by the end of DBZ, but in the end did not think Gohan's personality suited the role and it would be out of character to make him love fighting.. So he made Gohan a bitch and kept Goku as the main protagonist.

If that's true I can't say I disagree very much with Toriyama. It would be against Gohan's nature to train like Goku or Vegeta when there was no imminent threat like there was throughout most of DBZ.

Still, it upsets me because Gohan is my favorite character outside of the Great Saiyaman crap and I would have loved to see him take over. When he actually trained he was easily the strongest fighter.

I hope Toriyama can find a good way to make Goten and Trunks become powerful fighters. They seem to take after their Saiyan heritage more.
