I can’t lie, I pressed play expecting to hate it. I didn’t hate it.

Watched the first episode and kinda liked it. It definitely has the vibe of the office but also trying to be its own thing.

This has potential.

Is it a weekly release, or does the season drop all at once?

I'll definitely catch E1 this weekend.

All of S1 dropped yesterday. It was originally planned for a scheduled release.

I watched the first few episodes and it’s decent. Poor naive characters.

Watched episode 1. It’s enjoyable but had some things that annoyed me.

Too early with the love interest angle IMO.

The claustrophobia scene was really dumb.

Both black characters were annoying. One was just a dumbass and the chick is of course just better than everyone, especially the one guy with kids who they called a dumb Christian or something like that.

Esmeralda was too over the top awful.

Gleason is really good in it, but of course he is. Would have thought he was above something like this.

Yeah. They did go a little "girl boss" with some of it but they also made Esmeralda out to be an idiot too.

I only saw the 1st, and I would rate it as woke but a subdued wokeness that wasn’t crazy.

If I had to guess, I’d say it was made by people who are woke but were told to tone it down in the show.

Oh please. Nothing has an all white cast. Not even a show set in dark age Scandinavia has an all white cast.

This show has a white male top boss, another white male boss, they hired another white male to run the paper over a white female (Italian) and the main character outside of the hired white male is a white female and likely love interest.

In the 3 episodes I watched, there was no trans, gay, whatever type stuff. The closest would be asexual mention.

Yes there are 2 black people in the show and they aren’t bosses, they’re just workers.

Yet some posters have watched ZERO or one episode of the show and calling it wok. Maybe it gets wok, but just having a typical office looking environment does not make it wok.

Some of y’all just need psychiatric help.

I wasn’t even commenting on this show. I have not seen it yet. But after all the woke crap we have absolutely seen in recent years, including literal racial quotas for casting to make sure there aren’t too many white people, the “YoU are jUsT rAcIsT” retort is so lazy and tiresome. The Office was diverse and nobody at all cared.

Anyway, I look forward to seeing this show after I’m done with Andor and Peacemaker.

I replied to you, but I wasn't trying to direct it at you. Apologies there.

It's just the thought that some dudes are labeling this show semi-wok with zero evidence at all. From what I've seen and the hierarchy of positions of power, etc. -- if someone considers this wok, they are really really looking and wanting to complain about city wok.

Again, it might change direction and start preaching or whatever, but I don't think they even mentioned Oscar being gay in 3 episodes, just him lying about his age.

BTW, I haven't seen Peacemaker, but enjoy Andor. It's great.

NGL I said the trailer looked shitty but I tried it last night before the game and it was solid. Like sub peak The Office seasons. Enough to reminisce but not actual laugh out loud generally. We’ll see if it gets better as I get through the season.

The one black chick does get made to look like an idiot in either the 2nd or 3rd episode when she can’t do an interview and her and the idiot Christian guy fall for some dumb shite

The Italian/hispanic woman they turn into a villain pretty quickly

They’re playing heavy into having Office cameos though, Oscar has already called Stanley at the end of episode 3 (you only hear Oscar though). Bob Vance in one episode and mentions Phyllis (btw Bob looks old AF)

Yep, that’s my hope too. I love the Office/Parks format and if this show is half as good as either of those; then I’ll love it.
