I think Washington was pretty far down the line on the issues I had with it. Just too confusing. i don't think many people could walk out of the theatre and be asked "What was that movie about?" and give you a clear answer.

That was the first Nolan movie that the sound irritated me as well. Never really got the complaints about his sound editing in movies until Tenet.

His next movie was Oppenheimer, which was virtually perfectly cast. So I'd say no. Though The Odyssey certainly has some dumb casting to say the least.

Yeah I'm with you on this. It is odd though that the Moano film adapting a movie made in the last decade needs to be culturally appropriate but the Odyssey film based on a 2,500 year old book needs to be "adapted for modern times."

Just got out.

Holy frickin shite did he nail the ending. The first 2 hours are good to great but more just straight forward adventure. But the last 45 min or so when Nolan ties everything together thematically and then the big finish hits is what really puts it over the top and makes it great.

The Circe part is wild. The cyclops was ok, I think some reviews blew that scene out of proportion. Leguizamo kills it and I think Tom Holland has a bright future. I will admit the American accents are a little weird.

Saw it in standard 70mm and loved it. I wouldn’t miss this in theatre. Once again the last 45 min is epic and really gives the whole thing meaning as well as explains why these things are happening to Odysseus.

Travis Scott has 10 seconds of screen time. Helen maybe 10 lines. And page plays a pussy soldier so it kinda fits. All the sky screamers can chill now.
