You could probably grab isolated clips from just about any movie and make a case for whether it’s good or it’s shite.

Best thing to do is go watch the whole thing yourself and just ignore the folks who are protest bitching based on clips, YouTube reviews, or what someone else said when they haven’t watched for themselves.

I'd say the existence of multiple shite clips from the movie probably means the movie is more likely to be shite.

Agree. The clip is shite, and I mean laughable, high school project shite, but there's 3 hour plus run time. Plenty of time to convince people you're serious about this movie and just had to give a nod to the equity gods.

Are people still thinking Page is playing Achilles?

Page is playing Sinon.

Achilles doesn't appear in the movie at all.

I also cannot see the shots as they've been nuked.

Sinon is a proxy for Achilles

That’s because they changed the Achilles parts into Sinon apparently.

It’s fine to accept Nolan did atrocious casting and tried to check some boxes in doing so. He’s apparently not above that. Doesn’t mean the movie as a whole is awful, just apparently some forced BS.

In the end, once people not paid to watch it, see it, then we will get some legitimate reviews in my opinion.

You just have t look ignore the ones over glorifying it and the idiots screaming it is a DEI project as well.

Here are some more comparisons for the different screens formats.

So unless you seethe IMAX 70mm, you are literally missing a chunk of the film.

I think the DEI (real or imagined) is just taking a lot of focus off of the actual technical issues with the film.

Page gets 2 minutes of screen time; Lupita Nyong'o gets roughly 10-15 minutes based on searches. That's from the 2 hour and 52 minute run time of the movie as a whole.

These hot button topics distract from the whole of the movie.

For example, I wasn't happy with a reboot of Ghostbusters regardless of the cast; however, instead on focusing if the cast should have been all-male, all-female, more mixed, whatever, I prefer to focus on the fact that the movie simply is not funny. Jokes don't land, and the director should take a lot of the blame as there was little script - the actresses were just told to "be funny" and constantly improv scenes. Still one of the hardest movies I ever sat through (and only was willing to give it a chance when it was on streaming and I could do other things while it was on).

If your local IMAX is dual laser, you should have the same aspect ratio as 70mm.

Hopefully the physical release has aspect ratios as an option. Similar situation happened with the last Dune and they didn’t include the full aspect ratio for the release so you really only saw the full movie if you watched in IMAX during its theatrical run. Will most likely get another chance for that one as a re-release before Dune 3 in December.

Going to try to get up to Indy in the next few weeks to see it on 70 mm IMAX (closest to me).

I’ve watched Oppenheimer and Interstellar at the Indy IMAX. It was worth the 3 hour drive from Chicago, although I’m thankful I have one within 45 mins now.
