My favorite episode of the series so far. I think they're going to start having an even mix of the system and the case.

Episode 1 is still my favorite but this is definitely my second. Good character and plot development all around.

Agree after episodes 2 and 3 it started to lose me but I'm invested now. Good episode.

The Other Side of Midnight. Sidney Sheldon, if I recall.

Sheldon wrote it. The Dark Side of Midnight is an omnibus, not a single novel.

I think Turturro's cat is also a metaphor for wanting to save Naz from his situation, and going back and forth with his conscience. Tons of good symbolism

I think that each episode has been worse than the previous. Not saying that tonight's episode was bad (I enjoyed it), but I think that the series is heading in the wrong direction. Had some fun cameos between Janice Soprano (John Turturro's cousin) and the other Soprano fellow + Fisher Stevens from the classic Short Circuit films.

Cat is domesticated and can't survive outside. Lawyer brought him to the pound so he wouldn't die outside. If you watch the scene the pound is like prison. Dogs barking like inmates yell at new inmates. Cat does not belong there just like Naz is (presumably) innocent and does not belong in prison.

Better episode than the last two.

The actual investigation with cameras, evidence, etc. etc. will start next episode and I am looking forward to that. I don't really care too much for the jail life portion.

Also, anyone else caught Stone betting on the Saints and the bartender said they can't beat the local HS team?

Not as good as episode 1, but way better than 2 or 3.

Only thing that didn't make sense was his female attorney. What was the point of her taking the case pro bono if she was just going to try to get a plea deal?

Yea, I agree with most saying this is the second best episode so far after ep 1. Got some plot advances and it looks like we get more Box and his investigation into the crime next week

Because 1) she's not making any money so the faster and less time she has to spend the better. And 2) She could use the whole "I got a strong murder 1 suspect who was looking at 25-life down to a manslaughter charge with 15". So people who were actually guilty would look for her in times like that

2nd best episode, yes, but still far, far from the pilot's level. They've stretched 90 minutes of material into 3hrs. I fear the "investigation" scenes next week will also be slow and fewer than we expect. I'm sick of the prison stuff already, it just seems like filler.
