I think that Seinfeld has attained a mythic status that most folks can't overcome when it's compared to other shows

It kinda has that "air" about it, similar to michael jordan (no pun intended) where it's almost ingrained into people that nothing can or will ever be better.

But...I think it has merit too. There's a reason it hahs that mythic status about it. I've seen every episode of seinfeld countless times. There are some that I've seen into the hundreds. There are some episodes I can damn near recited the entire thing by memory. And even though all of that, and even still watching it every day after work, it still makes me laugh my arse off. And it's not just one-time gags, it's just genuinely hilarious writing. I know "to each his own", but I'm not the only one. A lot of my friends are the exact same way...and we're still in our 20s. I'm sure lots of people who were adults during seinfeld's run probably feel the same way. That's the thing about seinfeld, no matter if you know what lines are coming next because they are emblazoned into your brain cells from repeated exposure, it's still just funny.

Another thing that I think really sets seinfeld apart from others, and especially IASIP, is the common man factor. I've debated this point many times before that seinfeld isn't a show about nothing, it's a show about everything. Every person whose watched even a couple episodes of seinfeld can relate to it. Stuck in a restaurant when you're starving, an annoying clinger friend that won't get the hint and go away, shady people on a subway, going to a party with only 1 go-to friend, not knowing if you're supposed to tip certain people, seeing someone who knows your name but you don't know theirs, meeting someone you're interested in but don't know how to contact them later, and on and on and on and on. Those are real life, daily things that regular folks joke about with their buddies. Sure there are similar things in IASIP, but there is far more of that show that really is kinda far out from real life too.

Adn I"m not sayign I dislike sunny. I'm just saying...it isnt' even in the same stratosphere as seinfeld. It's also irritating the dumbass premise that there always has to be a "next" something, but that's another story.

Nobody cares.

Also Mac Day is on, probably my favorite recent season episode.

The Lethal Weapon episode is on Comedy Central right now.

How did they escape criticism for the blackface?
