I know you mean this as an insult. But even taking the name calling aside, “neckbeard incel city” is exactly who and what a Marvel movie with hot chick super heroes should be pandering and catering to

Is it really a better route to try to get women and minorities to become fans of, and spend money on super hero comic book movies rather than just selling to the very large group of “neckbeard incels” who are already fans and have a lot of disposable income to spend?

as just a casual fan on the outside looking in it’s crazy just how awkward and bad Disney has made this, they must just like throwing money away for progressive pats on the back.

it’s almost like the Bill Burr rant about the WNBA…women prove they can spend money and flock to theaters (Barbie, Taylor Swift concert), yet they didn’t flock to Ghosbusters or this. Yet it’s men’s fault these movies fail?

Maybe don't be so bothered by bit characters in comic books.

The point isn't that it's a bit character, the point is that it's changing source material for no reason other than to attempt to lecture via virtue signaling. That virtue signaling becomes at least part of the story.

Of course, but this is part of the narrative that gives you arguments like:

Them: "It's not important!!!"

Me: "Well, if it's not important, why change them all?"

Them: "Stop talking!!!"

Disney not only expected they could keep altering source material and race/sex swapping characters nonstop, but also kill off/retire characters people actually grew to love, cater to an entirely new audience (women) which never really cared about this genre in large amounts before AND not lose any of the guys that called racist/sexist etc if they dared speak up.

So...need the nerds that made the IP valuable, but talk shite about them too...then blame them for not showing up.

Why are people like you so slow? Or are you just pretending to be stupid?

I read comics in the 80’s. Until this version Capt Marvel hits the screen I’m not interested.

If you liked it, you liked it. Good for you for seeing a movie you enjoyed.

That being said, telling me "It didn't suck as much as I thought" isn't a compelling reason to see it in the theaters. If I still have my D+ subscription when it comes out, I'll watch it then.

This phase was going to be tough for more than a few reasons. Hangover from Endgame to start and then you really get itmnto the cosmic shite that the average fan is so far removed from. Even a non-fan knew the avengers characters and now you could be throwing a dart at a board. Mcoing forward they didnt listen to the backlashfrom the girl power scene in endgame. Theu went the DEI route that a lot of people are just wore out about. Finish up with mediocre storylines that do not create any buzz or move things forward and you have a recipe for disaster. They are clinging on to something like Loki that makes them think they can still put out a solid story

They should have just dialed everything way, way back. Make a few solo pictures with low stakes and high character development. Keep the budgets (reasonably) low and they could have still made money.

They had no vision for a payoff and the multiverse is both confusing and consequence-busting. The #Woke storytelling doesn't help, but it isn't the entire story of this collapse, for sure.

They have reached an unimaginable milestone: They've driven the most loyal fan base since Star Wars to a state of apathy, right after they did the same to Star Wars. #Impressivemostimpressive

3 out of 5 stars. Watch in on Disney+ when it comes out, but it isn't terrible and probably doesn't deserve all the hate it is getting.

Choosing not to see a movie is not "hate."
