I can't speak for everyone else, but I'm loving this season. I'm all about some galactic intrigue. That's what made Andor so damned good, and not a lightsaber in sight.

I feel like it’s given more depth to the story this season. Mando chasing Grogu around can only last so long before it gets formulaic.
I like the different moving parts. You have Mando developing Grogu into a Mandalorian. You have Bo Kattan’s quest of redemption. You have the undercurrent of the Empire still as a threat. There’s the potential for further introduction of some pretty cool non-Skywalker characters from the Rebels series and other SW canon.
Those tie-fighter scenes in this last episode was amazing.

I though Katie Sackhoff voiced Bo Katan in the animated series?

I love seeing the Interceptors getting some love as faster and more dangerous than traditional TIEs. Other than a few frames of ROTJ in the Battle of the Second Death Star, they've been largely overlooked in proper SW.

I loved Andor. But that's not a fair comparison. It's one show, giving some background and showing the buildup of Imperial fascism. It's great. No argument.
I'm talking about a multi-show event. Seemingly, the Mandalorian, Asoka Show, Rangers of the New Republic, Book of Boba Fett, and whatever other shows come out are all building toward a Marvel-style bad guy. (hopefully Thrawn) I think it would be a huge letdown if that buildup was in the vein of Andor and just serves the purpose of giving us background to a trilogy of movies that made no sense and were ultimately disliked by the vast majority of the fans.

The star fighting in this show is better than the entire new trilogy.
I liked the Doctor plot too. I think the other officer is for sure still working for Gideon. Remember one prisoner said he escaped, the other said he was "mind flayed". Then we see a mind flayer in action. Also learn in multiple ways the New Republic is like the Empire. In how housing is done and names are numbers. Then the whole mind reprogramming is very dark side shite.
It is crazy to take a trained doctor and put him in data analyzing.

Few things would please me more than the entirety of the D+ SW universe be building to a retcon of the Sequel Trilogy. Thrawn is a worthy Big Bad, and needs to live well into the return of SW in theaters.

I've really liked the season so far as well and agree it is nice getting more depth into what is going on in the galaxy. I think the last two seasons and BOBF did a good job kind of getting Grogu/Din's stories up to speed and we've to some point gotten them back to square 1 with the rest of the Mando's. Now it is time for Thrawn (which i'm assuming had something to do with the interceptors and bombers)/ and some other shite from Rebels to hit the fan.

I'm years behind the curve when it comes to getting caught up on Rebels/Clone Wars animated series, so I'm hoping I can complete Rebels at a minimum before SHTF.

I’m not sure the point of this season yet since I thought it would mostly be about Mando’s journey for redemption. But they wrapped that up in 3 episodes
Is this just a Book of Boba Fett type season where Mando isn’t the focus and it’s just a set up for a solo Bo-Katan show?

I have no idea either. To my knowledge there won't be a Bo Katan series, but who knows. They may be doing some work for her to play into some role in the Ahsoka series since she has some interactions with the Rebels story.

Welp, I guess we're not seeing Katie no mores.

Yeah I thought he would get to Mandalore in the finale and be redeemed. Also if you live on Mangalore you can just take your helmet off and then easily redo the vows.

She swings it effortlessly, however. Djarin is still dragging it in the dirt in combat.
She's also owned it before and presumably mastered it before this point. Furthermore, she does not waver in who she is or her resolve. Din on the otherhand is consistently unsure of everything and his place/creed. Din just has not learned it yet, where she had.

Just caught up.
Did the huge beast in the Living Waters drag him under?
It's hard for me to believe he was cool with just sinking to his death without something pulling him down.

Fairly unclear but I don't think the beast did. Was a weird scene, but it seems like he was just that heavy and couldn't gain control and got knocked out somewhere along the way down. Though, with his armor that seemed unlikely. That part didn't make much sense to me and just seemed like an easy out to see the beast without having to involve it much yet.

According to Bo-Katan, the structure/stairs were destroyed in the Purge bombing, so the stairway down into the water dropped him into an abyss.
The Mythosaur was just chilling in the depths. I'd imagine if it were predatory like that, he would've nabbed Bo-Katan and Din and munched on them in short order.

I thought this was interesting (if true). From the Trivia section for the episode on IMDB.
quote:
The 38-minute Coruscant subplot of Chapter 19 was revised by Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau from their canceled TV show "Rangers of the New Republic", which LucasFilm producer Kathleen Kennedy suggested (in 2021) would be absorbed into "The Mandalorian".
This means that future chapters are very likely to include Genevieve O'Reilly as Mon Mothma, and possibly Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano - but not Gina Carano as Cara Dune, even though "Rangers of the New Republic" was originally her own spin-off series.
