HBO hasn't released viewing numbers like they did with the first two episodes. Ratings must be dropping after Pedro's death.

Programming Insider said Episode 3 actually had more viewers than episode 2, Can't find anything for episode 4 though.

According to Programming Insider, the The Last of Us Season 2 premiere drew 938,000 linear viewers in the United States, but the very next week only 643,000 fans tuned in—a staggering 31.5% drop.

Episode 3 saw a modest rebound to 768,000 viewers, yet that figure remained 170,000 short of the opener.

That number is soon to be…

Besides the show runners, the one lady, I think maybe set designer?!? - is always saying stuff like, that was such an emotional scene, yada yada. And I’m always thinking, did we watch the same scene lady? Because that was awkward, misplaced, poorly written and badly acted. Can you define emotional for me? Lol.

Yea last week she was talking about a scene where Ellie was emotional and she said she was crying during the entire filming and in the post credit scenes she started to "cry" just talking about it. Except it was a fake cry with no tears I'm like wtf is going on here. There are some weirdos running this show.

I'm talking about the numbers HBO releases. Here's after episode 1, for example. They've stopped releasing since Pedro's death

I think the numbers for episode 5 will be the numbers to watch. Episode 4 was bad enough for people to legitimately stop watching. Curious what the numbers from 4 to 5 will be.

At least I'll still have Hacks to watch on MAX. Might give the show Duster a shot too. Don't think I've seen Sawyer from LOST in anything since LOST.

I dont think the numbers even matter at this point. The show has already been renewed for season 3 and that seems like it will be the stopping point since they already confirmed they wouldn't pass up the source material

I dont see how anyone could dislike episode 4 either.

It had the weird "im pregnant" scene but the rest of the episode was really good especially the underground zombie horde and the intro scene with the fedra flashback

Jeffrey Wright's scenes were great too. I did like the episode, it's just those last 10 minutes were really cringe

This whole show is jumping the shark for me.

That happened in episode 2 when they murdered Ellie's dad right in front of her and then left. Especially since Abby had that EXACT SAME THING HAPPEN TO HER and it was the one thing driving her to seek revenge.

True. More curious to see the overall fan reaction to this episode and if people stop watching because of it.

Alright I'll expand on my dislike although i hope to at some point in the future have this erased from my memory. And as I already said, I've been complementary of this show and haven't dwelled on Ellie's looks etc. But...

I agree, the Fedra flashback scene was good. But that lasted, what, all of 3 minutes? I'm a Jeffrey Wright fan so I was glad to see him added. It went all downhill from there.

i already have a dislike of Ellie because she is just a completely unlikable character for an innumerable amount of reasons at this point. One of them being that she is just dumb. So unsurprisingly from the very beginning of the episopde she is being dumb. Shouting and yelling to one another when they should be trying to be quiet. It's TV so you can't have them whispering to one another but don't have them acting like they need to be quiet one episode then in the next they are just yelling across the building to each other.

Then as I already said, the playing drums and guitar and singing. Dumb for the same reasons as I mentioned above. It is a fair criticism because it contradicts the world they have created. If these zombies were deaf or something then sure, have a karaoke session when your life is at risk, but not when they aren't deaf and you're trying to hide.

The entire scene where they somehow sneak out from the swat team was just ridiculous. Somehow neither of them are spotted and when they are, bad bitch Ellie comes out. Now they've set this up earlier with Ellie taking down the actual baby daddy but it just isn't believable. This is a grown, strong dude with an AR15 in his hands and a 5'1", 105lbs (google) Ellie chokes him out and kills him in a matter of seconds. She looked like a midget on this guys back.

Then continuing the ridiculous escape they outrun more grown people holding AR15's by crawling into a hole. By the time they got to the bottom of the ladder the swat team would have been there blasting them. And even if not they would have made it to the hole in the wall in time to pick them apart trying to go into the hole.

Then really going off the rails with the ridiculousness is the zombie chase. Ellie and Dina literally walk on top of that rail car. It required no special effort. But for some reason you have 100+ evolving/smarter zombies but all they can do is just crash into the side of it. i guess they went every where around the rail car except the section that is easily walked up.

Ellie has a seemingly endless supply of bullets in her two ten round magazines. She probably popped off forty bullets in the one scene alone without reloading. This happens in movies often but normally not to this extreme and it's a pet peeve of mine anyway.

But the chase continues and the zombies are only getting dumber. Now they come to this completely complicated jigsaw puzzle also knows as... a fence!! 5'1" 105lbs Ellie and Dina jump in right away but all the zombies know how to do is again, just pile into things and push against it. Instead of climbing the four foot fence or pushing one another over.

Next comes the next big obstacle, a rotating door. 5'1" 105lbs Ellie and Dina push it open but yet when the zombies get to it, now I guess they no longer can do the ONE THING they were able to do, which is push. Now they pile into each other and stop pushing

Setting aside the incredibly dumb lines that come next with the daddy lines and morning breath beef jerky mints, the love story between them just isn't believable. At all. It has happened over the course of a couple days and now they are in a full blown tri-parenting situation? I guess the dad is going to be cool with Ellie being the dad. They literally hooked up one time and now Ellie is a parent Nothing about it is believable or makes me care about it at all. But they are trying so hard to make you care and it's just wasted screen time imo.

So there are a few things I didn't like.

she didn't choke him out though, she stabbed him in the neck with her knife while he was still fighting back

Horrendous writing and acting. Jesse doesn't seem to matter.

Very fair criticism. It's supposed to show how much of a badass she is but comes across as laughable instead. I lol when she was on his back. She did look like a midget.

I know. She choked him to the point of being able to stab him.

And if that's the only reply you have to my 20 paragraphs I'll take it that the others are hard to argue

I am in no way trying to convince you to dislike it. I'm glad you liked it. But you do seem to rarely ever dislike a show.

Same. It actually would have been more believable if she would have just ran up and stabbed him numerous times. Stab him in the back, drops him to his knees, stab him again. That guy would have thrown her off like a rag doll.

This wouldn't be an issue if they didn't already estabish that the zombies can climb. They were scaling the (much taller) fence (or wall) at Jackson when they attacked in episode 2.

The inconsistency is what bothers me most. Sometimes they need to be quiet, other time sthey don't. The zombies can perform one task when it calls for it but can't complete a similar task at a later date out of convenience.

Make rules for the zombies and then stick to them.

Also have they explained the giant mutant zombies yet? Like the one Tommy flamethrowered to death? Why are they bigger and stronger? Are they also zombified humans or are they 100% fungus?

Sometimes i wonder if people are actually watching the show or just their phones.

They notably didn't scale the wall at Jackson. They brought in the bloater to bust a hole in the wall.

Haven’t even considered watching season 2 cause you knew it would be average at best. Seems like I made the right decision
