yet. Dina was worried about morning breath? And beef jerky makes it better?

I thought Ellie was generally hilarious in S1 but it simply does not work without Joel being the straight man

How the frick did the writers (and the game writers I guess) not think to build part 2 around the impending conflict between Joel and Ellie based on Joel’s decision in Salt Lake City? You had an interesting and compelling plot baked in and you go with revenge story with a side of joyful lesbian cuckholdery. The worst part is you can have both of those things without dropping the most interesting loose end of Season 1

Like why not have Abby’s little team mistakenly kidnap lesbian #2 thinking she’s Joel daughter and immune individual and Joel and Ellie have to rescue her? The truth slowly comes out to Ellie about why Abby hates Joel. That rift somehow leads to Joel’s death and you can have the revenge plot too

I feel like they were at a point where this shite writes itself and they dropped the ball

Finished episode 2 last night.

I have given this show praise. Legit one of the best pilot episodes of any show ever. Second episode this season was top tier tv. But that was legitimately one of the worst episodes of television I've ever watched. Holy crap that was bad.

I want to talk about all the parts that were bad but there are seriously too many to list. Not even factoring in the incredibly dumb and forced love story, even the zombie scenes were terrible. The train car chase scene felt like something from a CW show it was so cheesy.

Legit laughed out loud at numerous "serious" scenes. I'm kind of in disbelief of just how bad that was. Doubt I'll keep watching. Didn't think it could drop off THAT bad to the point where I have no desire to watch anymore, but I think it did.

The game is very violent but it’s all (mostly anyway) about stealth. Running into a big firefight head-on generally results in instant death.

I don’t expect each episode to be 45 minutes of Ellie sneaking around grabbing headshots, but I think that mentality can translate to live action if executed properly.

So far what we are seeing is kind of the opposite. They aren’t particularly stealthy at all, and they don’t seem to care very much about it despite a little bit of dialog that might indicate otherwise. The closest we’ve seen is them hiding behind some desks and praying for a miracle rather than being strategic.

I mean the very first scene in this episode was them in some abandoned building literally yelling at each other.

"Hey! i found some milk!"
"Make sure you SMELL IT FIRST!!" hahahaha "I'm going to take a piss!"

I was thinking at this point they could just trike up a band and start rocking out. A few scenes later, they are literally playing drums and guitar

So dumb. And she was worried about losing Ellie and the life she had dreamed of for them. The life she dreamed of in the whole 15 minutes she had to think about her pregnancy before getting chased by zombies.

I am still laughing about the "I'm pregnant" and straight to sex then "I'm going to be a dad" comments. Such bad writing.

And the writers sniffing their own farts after the credits is possibly worse than the show itself. Those dudes come off sounding like every scene in the show is groundbreaking television. The only two people that have sounded more dumb than Game of Thrones Dumb and Dumber.

Whether she did a good job or not wasn't the point for me. It was just dumb that she was playing a guitar and singing while hiding from zombies.

I guess it was in the game, but that just means it was a dumb scene in the game too. Though a little less dumb seeing as the game isn't trying to make you believe this is real world stuff. The writers are completely jumping the shark and doing stuff that doesn't make any sense in relation tot he world they've created.

Really surprised SouthEasternKige hasn't jumped in and talked about how bad this episode was based on his 15 hours of youtube videos. For probably the first time in history I'll probably agree with his opinion.

There's been plenty of times I've not liked an actress but they had great chemistry with their onscreen partner, so I was ok with it.

Ellie just doesn't have any chemistry with Dina on the screen. It's ridiculously forced. And I don't even have an issue with it being a gay couple, there's been gay couples I've seen on screen have a ton more chemistry in their stories. This ain't it.

Hell it happened in this series. This is the 3rd most likable gay couple in the show

This is back to back weeks now that HBO hasn't released viewing numbers like they did with the first two episodes. Ratings must be dropping after Pedro's death.

We are on the same page bro. Such bad writing and the after show ends up being hilarious.

Besides the show runners, the one lady, I think maybe set designer?!? - is always saying stuff like, that was such an emotional scene, yada yada. And I’m always thinking, did we watch the same scene lady? Because that was awkward, misplaced, poorly written and badly acted. Can you define emotional for me? Lol.
