I don't like to agree with fatkid on anything because he is legit special, but I do agree with him partly. Hence my last post. But let me make an argument against this in a normal, non-anti gay way...

quote:

Lol. The entire episode was about the evolution of a character that didn’t give a shite about the world or living in it for that matter and for that to be a complete 180 simply because he found a connection with another human that mattered to him. That’s all people really want, connection to others and I would say especially so in an apocalyptic world. Sometimes that connection is romantic, other times it’s platonic. I don’t come on TD looking to frick. I come on TD looking to connect and discuss topics with other human beings.

You're just describing what a love story is. Gay or straight, apocalyptic or not, it was just a love story. I don't think anybody is arguing that, Would I have enjoyed it more if it was a straight couple? Yea. So I realize I can't say it was a bad love story just because I would enjoyed it more had it not been a gay couple. The fact that they never would have done this episode had it been a straight couple is another debate in itself, but you know they wouldn't have.

quote:

The entire journey of the episode was two-fold from a character standpoint. The effects of Bill’s characterization through the letter impacts Joel to try and find the same thing Bill found. So yeah, two characters were very much dynamic and changed in this episode. Your failure to see that just goes to show how much of a pleb and hack you really are.

But the letter didn't tell us anything new. We already knew he cared for Tess and he was already on his way for caring for Ellie. It's not like the letter had some deep meaning for him, he through it away immediately

Just to go along with that, all of what was done for Bill and Frank could have been accomplished in probably half the time. Spending 60 minutes on two characters that don't matter going forward vs 10 on the two that matter the most is just off. I mean you can't deny that they could have cut out some lame love story scenes and added more time to other areas, heck even time with the 4 of them together or dive in to the 70/80/90s code they were doing. Something, I don't know, I'm not a writer. But I do know I was sitting there thinking "man why am I getting an episode of the notebook?" Especially given how early it was in the season, to spend that much time on it, I didn't care for it.

Soon it would be normalized for straight guys to try a little dick or else be bigoted. This episode the Director was proud of fricking the audience without their consent. He even said so.

Damn man.
I thought it was a good episode for what it was. Was it a filler episode, yeah but I thought it was done very well. I don't see everything as being pushed on the viewer. Its a TV show, that doesn't dictate how we live our lives. We see racism in a movie and people belive they pushing racism, we see gayness in a TV show and they pushing gayness on us. These things do actually happen in real life whether we want to believe/see it or not. But I really don't care if people or gay or straight so maybe that's why I have the view that I have.

Completely pushed on without our consent. Director is on record as tricking us. There a difference between watching GOT knowing there would be some gay scene in there because of the characters and then a completely gay episode dedicated to it.

What's the difference. One had gay in it and so did the other. The fact that you were unaware is irrelevant to having or not having it in there. The director saying he sort of had to trick the world into watching it is because he knows most of society still has a bias towards being gay. Again, so what, enjoy the show unless you just can't look past the fact that people in this real world are gay and that it sometimes makes it into film. I just feel so indifferent about gay vs straight that I don't see things being pushed on me.

Based off the first two and a half episodes, I would very much disagree with this. I think you're letting your knowledge of the game influence this thinking. Just based off their interactions in the show, he would have dropped her off on Bill and Frank and bolted if he had the chance. The letter, and the lack of Bill and Frank def changes his mind and only AFTER the letter does he start to allow himself to start connecting to Ellie.

LOL you have no way of knowing this. I'm not going to sit here and argue hypotheticals with someone who just blatantly said they would have enjoyed the story more had it been a straight relationship. You're basically saying the same thing as fatkid just written better. I'm all for calling out Hollywood when they try to shoehorn agenda in. This isn't one of those instances.

This board would not have given one single frick had it been a story of two hot lesbians. Not. One. frick.

Congrats, they have trained you to take a little dick with your entertainment. If I wanted to watch a gay flick I will. There is a reason why warning labels exist in most other streaming service when some is LBGTQ. Its is disgusting to straight people, there is a reason why it was reviled through he ages. We learn to tolerate it more and by all means have LBGTQ content, but don't be tricking me with that graphic shite when I was clearly watching a show about a Pseudo Father-Daughter horror survival show, this gay scene wasn't even in the original game. They tweaked it to show gay people living harmoniously while in the game it was anything but, gay people can be a bullheaded and unforgiving as straight.

But nope, if they want to push gay shite like this again, they should have tagged this episode as LBGTQ and not fricking trick us into taking dick without our consent.

SJW cry about rape culture but loves pushing their preference on their opponent, forcefully. Almost like prison buttfricking to show their dominance. In the end, rape culture is okay for holloywood and libs as long it is the rape of straights by LBGTQ.

Without getting into the gay stuff again, I'll disagree with this point

I haven't played the game but it should be undisputed that he cared for Tess.

With regards to Ellie, he viewed her as a job. I believe he still views her as a job. However, it's been clear that Ellie is the daughter he no longer has. If he didn't care for her, then he would have shot her and left her for dead

You’re the softest little bitch I’ve ever seen in a discussion format about a tv show. Holy shite. No one cares about your shitty anti-gay religion that’s dying out. Nor do comfortably straight men get so worked up about non-graphic gay relations. You seem insecure as frick.

Either gobble some dick and accept your sexuality or grow up.

The little giggles they made after eating the strawberries was gayer than the gay love scenes.

I dunno man. I may giggle like that if I hadn’t eaten a strawberry for 10+ years. Love me some of those red little gems.

I’d definitely cry after eating a honey crisp apple after not eating one for 10+ years.

Would bust a nut if it was dark chocolate.
