Did season two happen to be better than the 1st?
I finished the 1st season but I didnt watch the second bc I felt like it was trying too hard to be like GOT.

Books are so much better. Got War of the Wolf in today.
They miscast Uhtred in the TV series but they did a good job with Alfred.

The casting has been superb with the exception of Uhtred. I like the actor fine but he just is not Uhtred. He’s not big enough and just lacks the innate aggression. But still, I love the show.

I get the feeling that he would rather be writing poetry half the show.
Uhtred would not be writing poetry. He actually threatens to torture singers who tell lies about other people winning his battles as I recall...

Exactly. Uhtred is a big brutal man who delights in fighting. The books are clear about how he looks and the fact that he intimidates people. His aggression never leaves. I don’t understand that casting choice but I do appreciate that all the other characters are cast perfectly, esp Alfred. He is exactly how I pictured from the books.
Uhtred should’ve looked something like Chris Hemsworth but meaner.
