Very good documentary but a hard watch
The one days that said he had thought of planning to spend the night and didn’t. And thinking if he was there he could have saved those kids.
Absolutely fricking gut wrenching the underserved guilt that poor man has to live with.

Part of me wishes he would get a trial and they put the death penalty back on the table. It’s so clear that he’s guilty. The most damning new evidence they pointed to on this documentary (and my wife and I followed this case closely as we were on a road trip when it was all breaking so we were listening to podcasts about it like crazy) was how he just stopped visiting Moscow altogether once the mirders happened after he had visited it constantly in the lead up to the killings.

I wonder if he planned to leave the knife sheath behind as a clue in his game. He just seemed too educated on criminology and somehow covered anything else up.
It was also an idiotic move to circle the house so many times in his personal car or not leave it down the street somewhere. I know he was prob waiting for everyone to leave or go to sleep, but that was just a stupid move. Also to bring his cell phone with him at all. Hindsight it 20/20 but he’s supposed to be some shut in criminology genius according to the show.
Sucks we’ll never really know the motive or why these group of kids were targets. Feel bad for the ex boyfriend. No telling what he went through until they caught BK.

I get it’s tough to judge and all but I don’t get how that one roommate didn’t call the cops when she saw and heard what she did. Just odd.
Pretty good documentary overall. It was basically a guy trying to be a modern day Michael Meyers. Killing in a frat house. What a creepy looking dude. It’s hard to get away with shite like this anymore with the advances in technology. They got him with familial DNA. Crazy.

Attractive, young, happy. The complete opposite of that creepy weirdo. Something he would never be. He wanted to come in and destroy their happiness and disrupt their perfect lives permanently in one single act. He’s a monster.
As far as why these exact people specifically? A different town than the one he was in. He probably stumbled upon them and stalked them for awhile. They fit the mold of what he was looking for. Then finally made his move.

I get that, but they weren’t the only young kids having a good time and he didn’t even go to the same college. The show never mentioned a connection of any kind.
Was his plan just to kill the girl, the couple, or just everyone in the house? Why’d he turn and walk away from the girl that survived. Seemed somewhat personal but again, no connection.

Yeah I kind of alluded to that in an edit.
Also, he went to the same school as one of the victims sisters I believe. But that could have been a coincidence.
They had to be at a different location and fit the mold of what he was looking for.

Also a knife attack is typically associated with something personal. Too messy and too many opportunities to leave evidence behind in a fighter type situation.

There was a guy who tried to recreate the show Dexter awhile back. Unfortunately this is not an unheard of situation.
I’m not seeing any blatant conspiracy signs with this one. The only thing weird about it imo is why did that girl not call the police sooner. That is very odd.

I always thought that Kaylee was the target. I believe she was the one that worked at the vegan restaurant. She also had a window that could be seen from the upper parking lot behind the house and had boots in the window sill. He goes in the house and up the stairs to kill her, finds Maddie in her bed and it throws him off. He kills them both but leaves the sheath accidentally because he wasn’t expecting Maddie. Xana was awake (she just had door dash delivered) and heard the commotion and went out to investigate. BK runs into her on his way down and this is the conversation that Dylan heard that she thought was Kaylee. Xana says “someone’s in the house” and BK says “don’t worry I’m here to help” - he then chases Xana to her room where he kills her and the sleeping Ethan. His entire plan is completely thrown off now, so even though Dylan sees him on the way out he knows he doesn’t have anymore time so he jets out the back.

Hunter was remarkably well composed as seen through the police body cam footage. I would be shitteing myself.
Since Hunter already saw inside Xana’s room, why doesn’t he say anything about the gruesome scene to that cop? I understand not telling the others outside, but tell law enforcement. If I’m correct, up to this point the police still think someone is unconscious from too much alcohol from what was conveyed during the 911 call. That cop was not at all expecting to see whatever he saw in there.

Absolutely. He took the brunt of seeing that for his friends. He’ll be haunted by that until the day he dies.
As to why he didn’t say anything to the cop, I’d imagine he was in shock. Probably questioned whether what he saw was real or not.

BK was incredibly sloppy all around. The constant circling of the house the night of, followed by him peeling out. Him being in the area over and over again with his cell phone in hand, as well as the night of. Leaving the sheath, which ultimately was the only thing that tied him directly to the scene. If he was trying to plan the perfect murder he was way off.

Hunter and the first responding cops having to take the stand describing what they saw would be horrific if this goes to trial. 
I don’t want everybody having to relive that nightmare.

His sloppiness leaving the sheath and the next door camera footage was a definite game changer in the case. If you eliminate those two, does the case even get solved?

The influx of psychos only grows with our nation’s mental health crisis getting worse every year. Thank goodness for technology so it’s harder to be incognito like 70s and 80s serial killers.
The motive and why they were targeted have to be eating at each family. Also, the fact that he surveilled 1122 King Road multiple times at night in the months prior to the murders gives me absolute chills.
