The Grand Tour, Season Two "Official" Season-Long Thread

If somebody else (Jack Ruby) really, really wants to start another thread I'll be OK with it but since I was the one who bumped it almost every week last year I thought I'd give it a go this year.
Good start to the season. No Celebrity Brain Crash. Apparently I wasn't the only one who hated it. Beautiful scenery and badass cars. I like the new feature pitting celebrities against each other in a Jaguar around their new track.
I can't wait until next week and I look forward to the whole season.

Overall good episode, excited to see where this season goes. I honestly think I enjoyed Celebrity Brain Crash more, even though it became very derivative, since it took much less time than the new celebrity segment. It allowed more time to be spent with the guys out in the field with the cars, which is what I enjoy most.
I knew Hammond was going to crash since I saw the story in the news, and was surprised when he crossed the finish line. Of course he would wreck AFTER the race was over

Really enjoyed the episode. Always knew the Hoff was tall but damn he is a fricking giant. Thought that segment was much more entertaining than celebrity brain crash.
I wish my job was to drive around the world and trash super cars.
Also can't believe that car burned for 5 days.

I enjoyed last season and this episode. While I get that first and foremost it and TG are "buddy shows" they keep straying farther and farther from the cars. They had three interesting cars but they couldn't be bothered with any discussion of the actual cars.

I watched episode 2 this morning, I look forward to the Ford GT getting a proper review in a coming episode. Celebrity Face Off is pretty cool, especially since they threw in the gravel section. I was surprised Brian Wilson was one of the celebrities, didn't know he had shaved off the beard.

Also, I'm sure there was artistic license in play here but I cannot believe that Jet Blue Airlines would let someone without a confirmation # change plane reservations like that.
Still, I'm loving the show and I'm so glad it's back.
Thanks for the bump!

The new season has been great so far. Just finished episode two and everything just feels much more natural this season.

Totally agree. The back and forth between the 3 is great, but in the first episode they didn’t spend more than 2 minutes talking about the actual cars.
We learned the aventador is a 6.5 v12 (most already know that) and that it can shut down 6 of its cylinders when driving slow
We learned that the NSX has an uneven fuel gauge. That’s it. Didn’t even talk about the engine at all
We learned that the Rimac has 4 batteries which total 1200 or so hp and that it’s fast as frick in the drag race
That’s it

Bump for Episode 3.
James was great in the Kia.
I liked the Christmas-themed Conversation Street.
Meh on the office-park racing although I'm sure it was great fun for the contestants.
The repartee in Celebrity face-off was better than the actual driving footage.
Clarkson in the Chiron was classic TG/TGT.
Dang, have to wait another week for more!

Episode 4 may be the best shpw they have ever done. When May showed up in the Lauda and started off about the challenge i lost it

Episode 5 bump.
Ripsaw is badass!
Celebrity Face-Off needs at least one person Americans have even a passing knowlege of IMO. The bald guy was funny enoughthough.
I enjoyed James' road test of the VW Up! but again, not available in the US so not relevant to me.
I don't need to be pandered to but I don't want to be ignored either.
End rant.
I did enjoy the episode. I am enjoying the season. I have more thoughts but I'll wait until someone responds so I don't feel like I'm talking to myself.

I've watched every episode and enjoyed most segments. I feel like they're definitely getting into a better groove than Season 1. The ripsaw segment was amazing and it wouldn't surprise me if the grand tour team didn't even have to pay for the havoc they were allowed to wreck

I thought the drifting video was hilarious.

I liked all of the segments except for celebrity face-off. And didn't hate it, I just had no idea who those guys were so I DGAF about them.
Also, and this is a small beef, but last season the idea behind the The Grand Tour was that they traveled around the world. That's why they were in a tent. That tent hasn't moved at all this season. If they're not going anywhere they should just construct a building.

I have always suspended reality and just went with the fantasy that after each episode of damage and mayhem they just sneak away like college kids. No checks, no insurance just
ETA I quite enjoyed the roasting of Hamilton...

Late to the party. Watched episode four. Solid, and funny.
The guys have found the groove they had back on top gear.
Glad to have new episodes to look forward to.
