I'm more pumped for Episode VIII, written and directed by Rian Johnson

Coach Don and Vador
I'm freaking pumped for this movie.
Makes me sad how underwhelming the prequels were. Literally could have been the most epic trilogy ever, the had so much damn time and they almost completely blew it.
The story is so awesome it makes them watcheable, but the execution should go down as a modern film tragedy. And I don't think I'm over reacting in that regard.
I'm only 26 but my brother and I were insanely into star wars as kids. Built a shite ton of space models, had a bunch of more kid friendly books to tell the stories etc.
It was a huge f-ing let down when the new ones came out, and I was still pretty young then. Even then I knew exactly how bad they f-ed up Anakin's turn/manipulation.

I am too, and for the franchise in general. They can do some amazing things going forward, and there is enough there to keep it relevant and very entertaining/interesting.

To be honest, the prequels were a disappointment in many regards. And they had such potential to be great. But, like I've said time and again, the books that go with each of them are actually very good and give a great deal of insight that the movies just skip right over. In my opinion, the movies only tell at best half the story. The real stuff, the meat and potatoes of the story, is to be found in the books for Episodes I - III.

I am about the same aged and similar disposition. I loved the N64 games and still all things star wars but even as a kid I knew that 1-3 sucked. I did not even see 3 in its entirety until years after it was released. So disappointing

Hell yea.
I had a badass game on my computer, I can't remember which one it was but it was damn near impossible. Took us so long to finally beat. I specifically remember the levels flying through the death star and the speeders on Endor there were hard as hell.

This is awesome. John Boyega's reaction to seeing himself in the trailer.

That was great. I could only imagine what he felt.

Daisy Ridley had a great one too. She set her alarm to wake up and watch it.

By default, I would say yes, especially later when he is a grand master Jedi and training students in his own academy.
You know that Disney aka Lucasfilm Story Group has declared that the books of the Star Wars Expanded Universe (EU) have been declared non canon. This includes the Zahn trilogy.
But I still hope that Thrawn shows up somewhere.

I never noticed how rough Kylo's blade looked. I wonder why maybe because he didn't have a working one to base it off of/

Daisy's came out eariler she was more emotional. I think I would freak out too if I saw myself in that epic trailer. I'm going to watch it again now. It's been hours since I last saw it.

I'd imagine. Doing all the work in front of a green screen, but not knowing what the final cut will look like. It's got to be something to behold even for the actors in the movie.

I've read where people are speculating that's the case.

Yeah, it looks like it could explode at any second.

Some are speculating that he has Darth Vader's light saber and has jerry-rigged it to function.
A picture of the actual prop:

So much going on here. First of all, we see Ren using the Force—or at least that’s what it looks like. Second, he’s using it for some kind of torture against Poe Dameron. We’ve never seen it used like that. Third, it fades into a massive, red destruction. Remember the red lens flare above? Something’s blowing up.
What if Poe's from Alderan and Ren is torturing him using the memory of the planet being destroyed?
I don't follow this stuff like y'all do so I just pulled that out of my arse.

laughed to keep from screaming hatred in the movie theatre when Obi-Wan of the prequels says "You were my brother, Anakin. I loved you."
Same here.
That scene and dialogue was downright laughable and pretty much betrayed everything in the prequels to that point. Obi-Wan and the entire Jedi order treated Anakin like shite since he was a kid. "You were my brother"? LULZ.
Quite literally the only piece of applicable dialogue in that exchange is when a burning Anakin screams "I hate you!" THAT was more on point and applicable to that relationship dynamic.

Eh, maybe not on screen, but I would have to imagine Vader used it when torturing Solo in cloud city. Also, I would say Force Choking someone would be torture
