I will be disappointed if it is just another version of the original Star Wars.

Really? This is what most fanboys have wanted for 30 years....

So this thread prompted to go and rewatch the two teasers that were previously released, and at the end of the second trailer when Han says "Chewie, we're home..." I fricking got the chills and dropped a tear again. WHY IS THAT PART SO frickING EMOTIONAL FOR ME?!?!

POTENTIAL SPOILERS:

The Force Awakens is all about Luke/Anakin's original lightsaber. We know Luke lost it on Bespin. The main characters find it in the Imperial wreckage. Kylo Ren, who is the headhunter for the first order is after the weapon which leads to a chase of Finn and Rey as the look for Luke to give it back.

And why is Kylo Ren searching so hard for the lightsaber? Because the First Order is trying to clone Vader.

- We know cloning is possible
- There is the still shot of Vader's melted helmet
- The Kylo Ren action figure has a line that says, "that weapon is mine."
- In one of the new books, there is a cult of Vader who insist that "He lives."
- Hayden Christensen has been brought in for the second film.

Maybe the red light saber dude is Luke

I kind of wondered that too, what if Luke turned.

Then I wonder if not Luke, then the guy is related to Luke or Leia at the least.
I am thinking they will take parts of the books that were cast aside.
I read a story yesterday that spoiled what the "Super weapon in the pic is" I'll say it below cryptically.

Pretty impressive that the thing still works 40 years later after all it's been through.

I don't think I've got it figured out for all 3, but I think I know what the conflict is in the Force Awakens and what's exactly going on.

Its not really hard to believe. They are made from Crystals. Only Jedi/Sith can make them, so it's probably easy for them to fix. They aren't really used that much in the grand scheme of things.

My question is how does it possibly end up in Imperial Wreckage. I always thought it would be found on the surface of whatever planet cloud city is on. Which brings another question. Can Jedi/Sith sense light sabers? Or is it just an object to them. I figured that they would be able to since they are the only ones who can make them. Kind of like a Harry Potter wand thing, where it's attached to the owner.

They are in a civilization that has been more advanced than we are now for at least 20,000 years. I would think they mastered power cell design by now.

(to be honest the Star Wars book timelines always bothered me, same as Game of Thrones)

Oh dear God. Why?

POTENTIAL SPOILERS

So Luke recognizes that the Siths have not been defeated and that the force has not been balanced. That Anakin/Vader truly needs to be the one to win it all, so they attempt to clone a Vader of the Force to fulfill the prophecy.

He isn't a bad actor, Lucas just really gayed up the characters you know and love for the prequels.

Cloning Vader does seem pretty badass imo.

It's not like it spent 40 years in a box. I would assume the fall from Cloud City alone would've damaged it.

Well, I wasn't thinking this specifically, more just a vague concept: the Force Awakens is actually a mass empowering event to bring back balance to the Force, since almost all people who were Force Conscious were hunted down and killed by the Emperor and the Empire. Luke and Leia were only spared because Obi Wan and Yoda were actively blocking the Emperor and Vader from finding them. Now there may be a few dozen Force Conscious people in the galaxy, so the Force consciously empowers itself to awaken thousands of others to be able to perceive the Force.

I think Rey was already Force Conscious, but Finn is not. The First Order then actively goes out and tries to capture and/or kill anyone they can find who has newly been made Force Conscious, and Rey's job for the Jedi is to save these people for the new Awakening. Meanwhile I think Kylo Ren also wasn't Force Conscious until the Awakening, but he was obessed with it before hand, was as badass as Boba Fett, and knew its ways long beforehand. Now, he's easily the most formidable warrior in the Galaxy and is after anyone who is Force Conscious.

Meanwhile, Snoke is using the Force's new formidability to build a new Super Weapon that actively utilizes the Dark Side of the Force to be able to destroy anything anywhere in the Galaxy, including stars.

That's vaguely what I think the direction the plot is heading in at least.

That's why I am wondering where it ends up. Bespin is a gas planet, and the surface is not a place where humans can go, so it would have to be a driod or machine if it were there.

Unless it got sucked up by one of those vents and somehow ends up in trash on an imperial ship or something.

also cool that the planet the First Order is based on is the name that Luke had in the early drafts of Star Wars/
