I really hope this space ship story line doesn't ruin this season

I want to see aliens shoot Hanzee with a laser gun. I don't care how stupid it sounds, it would be awesome.

Agreed. This was one of the best seasons of any show I've seen, but the space ship was a really confusing choice. I didn't like it personally, but I'll keep an open mind until they wrap it up.

Yeah. I don't understand the whole UFO part. Hopefully, there is a good explanation.

Yup. They need to have a strong finish now.

So Hanzee turned why? Freaking show is awesome. Even if the spaceship stuff is just thrown in the rest of the show makes it not even matter. Hanzee turning on the family is a great turn for the show. Shanking mom was epic.

The reddit had links to "real" ufo sightings in the area around that time

Wow....Fargo just keeps on keepin on. Was just waiting for someone to get beamed up to that UFO.
I've been wondering if Hanzee was a sniper in Nam. Deadly accurate. Who else believes Peggy is last man standing?

Peggy and fat Matt Damon will def be the last ones standing. They are to dumb to die in a shot out ..

I liked it when the UFO thing was just a cute "what if aliens have to do with all this" storyline. I hate the idea of aliens actually affecting the storyline, which is what seems to have happened.
I'm trying to convince myself of the "unreliable narrator" angle. That's the first thing that popped into my head as rationale, because right now I refuse to believe something so fricking stupid could happen in an otherwise spectacular show. I'm a pretty big TV-fan/douche.. and This has been one of the best seasons of any TV show I've ever seen. Until a fricking spaceship came down during the middle of a shootout and saved the main character's life.
Nothing else has really been unreliably narrated, however. Maybe Solverson will be the only spectator who survives and he will "swear he saw a UFO" and that goes down in the legend of the "History of True Crime in the Midwest". If Peggy, Ed, and Hanzee all die and Lou is the only one left to tell the story of what happened, then that's a little bit more acceptable. Just one guy who swears he saw a UFO. I hope the writers go with this angle and make it believable.
When it happened, I was talking to my television: "Oh god, no. Please no. Don't let this happen to this show". I'm cool with them teasing about the idea of UFOs throughout the season: "maybe its aliens" is a nice little mystery... but when you actually have a spaceship come down to earth.... Jesus. Really hope this will get cleared up.

Is Lester the narrator?

One would think, with the quality writing on this show, they have something good up their sleeve for the aliens. This isn't like say LOST where the writers painted themselves into a corner early on and are going to offer up weak reasons for the aliens... they knew where they wanted to go when they wrote the aliens into the story (I hope).

Will they show Rapid City in later seasons?
The shite cop detective said this is like Rapid City all over again.

Yes, this season has been perfect up to this point and I've been raving about it. Just absolutely spectacular minus that ONE SCENE... but that could be a colossal frick-up if they don't have a better explanation.
I feel like I'm trying hard to convince myself that the writers will make everything better in the finale. But at the same time, I thought season 1 had a kinda lame/lazily written final two episodes.

Aliens, or something weird out of left field, kind of fit in with the black comedy tone of the movie. Fat Damon and Kirsten Dunst being stupid remind me a lot of Jerry Lundegaard from the movie too. I wonder if Hanzee knows Shep Proudfoot?

I honestly believe that the ufo in that scene was for nothing more than to remind us how far out of touch Peggy is.
Yeah, spaceship, let's go.
She's an actualized, realized, lunatic.
