Ouch. North is one of two movies that I walked out of. I actually walked out with 15 minutes left in movie. I couldn't take it any more.

My wife was griping at me for hating on this movie, too. It's a rare bird that you can spot a clunker just by the title, but my gut told me from 1000 yards that this one is uniquely bad.

And his career.

His fame from Silicon Valley went straight to his head. His career is basically over.

His stand up was atrocious, this movie is pathetic, he going to be a less talented, poor mix of Randy Quaid and Charlie Sheen but without the late in life resurgence.

I read some of the full reviews and this movie sounds epically bad.

Also, I fully support this ruining Miller's career. I can't stand smug Hollywood bastards and he is up there with the smuggiest.

Dude really isn't funny outside of Silicon Valley, he should thank Judge for getting his limited talent a starring role even if it is voice acting.

Looks like it got it's first fresh review, albeit not exactly glowing - up to 3%

quote:

Parents need to know that The Emoji Movie is a colorful and kid-friendly -- if not particularly original -- adventure that imagines a world inside our smartphones in which each emoji is supposed to have a single expression/role. So when "meh" face Gene (voiced by T. J. Miller) breaks those expectations, chaos ensues. Expect to see some destruction, suspense, and peril; the main characters are pursued by intimidating bots bent on deleting them with their laserlike weapons. But it never gets too intense for young elementary schoolers. There's a bit of flirting, and two emoji characters kiss; there are also scenes that take place in a dive bar, where drinking is implied (and there's a beer emoji character). Language is fairly mild but includes a purposely cut-off "oh, s--t," as well as insults like "loser," "shut up," and so on. Jokes about the poop emoji involve (surprise!) potty humor. Many real-life apps are featured prominently, including Dropbox, YouTube, and Just Dance. The story emphasizes the importance of being true to yourself, as well as the value of honesty and teamwork.

I was kinda hoping this movie was going to be a huge hit just to see OML melt over it.

The lengths you're going to try to convince everyone that this movie is bad is alarming.

North was just condescending to the intelligence of the audience.

It was everything we hate about Hollywood's conceit - and it highlighted their lack of respect for the audience and what they think of families.

That why it was so bad. It's just Hollywood bullshite.

I'm really thinking about ripping it off online and doing a rant thread on it. No way in hell am I paying for it, but I do feel like tearing it a new a-hole and actually watching it.

That was celebration day after having 3 years of getting shite talked by members of this board, and then being right about everything with the slight exception of Ben Affleck being a bad Batman since he looked like genius casting compared Jesse Eisenberg. I was somewhat ecstatic that it was as bad as it was, although I was sad that Snyder drove the DC Universe into the ground before it really started. My real hatred is still reserved for Man of Steel, that had everything going for it, but Snyder was just blissfully unaware of what he was actually filming, like thousands of people at a time being killed through Superman's recklessness.

Yes, I obsess about movies. Next to space, it's my biggest passion. So when I see a movie idea released that sounds like something Ali G would come up with, I do get a bit pissed. Kids deserve better than this, as all the critics seem to agree.

That was from CommonSenseMedia, whose ratings I don't care about. They're just there to tell you if it's appropriate to take a kid to go see it. For anyone with pubes, their ratings are entirely irrelevant. Her and Armond White I don't really care about. It's still at 0% as far as I'm concerned.

Never got what people liked about TJ Miller in the first place. His blabbering thru out Cloverfield ruined that movie for me. His death in AoE was the best scene in all 5 transformer films.

Only film I can barely tolerate him in is Deadpool, but he was a horrible choice for Weasel too.

And why does a mother fricker need to quit a tv for an animated movie? That's the stupidest shite I've ever heard of, least Eric Foreman quit to become Venom.

He has 5 or 6 movies either about to release or currently in production

Yeah, 3 of which being sequels. His career is basically over and everyone hates working with him. It will go down as one of the dumbest career decisions of all time.
